After calling the WashU-Kenyon game today, I was very impressed with Kenyon's ability to radically adjust its offensive attack after Brett Williams left the game early in the first quarter because of a concussion.  Dan Shannon threw for over 200 yards and Carlo Gagliardo caught 10 passes for over 130 yards--3 of them for TDs.  The only fly in the ointment was Shannon's 2 INTs--one that was returned 84 yards for a TD by WashU's Ryan Bednar to give it a 21-17 lead in the 3rd quarter, and a pick by the Bears' Andrew Skalman on the next-to-last possession for the Lords in the 4th quarter.

Good days are indeed to come for the Lords, if today was any indication.

The OWU announcer has put me to sleep...14-7 at the half...Bishops

That's what happens when you don't hire a real announcer......Spiccoli is right.

Bishops D playing well in key situations....would like to see the O attack down the field.

The_Bishop

BIG pick by the Bishops to start the 2nd half!

4 TOs are killing Case right now in this game.

Roughing the punter penalty on CWRU after OWU goes 3 and out.  Bishops in the red zone...

18-yard FG is wide left.  Last week we set a conference record for most field goals in a game.  Go figure.

Florence hits Gilbert in the end zone. Gilbert made the catch even though he was interfered with. 17-7 Witt with 6:30 to go.

Wooster's not giving Barnes any protection, at all. He's running for his life on most plays.

25 yds rushing....156 yds for Espo

Nice drive by Case, down to the 11 yard line.  Come on D.

26-yard FG is NO GOOD!

14-7 OWU late in the 3rd.

Witt holds on to beat Wooster 17-7.

Another roughing the punter penalty on Case.  Unreal.  OWU has to capitalize here.

Finally home. I watched approximately 25 seconds of the game today on my cell phone from the Alamodome parking lot and kept an eye on the live stats the rest of the game.

Two thoughts have been brewing for me since the live stats informed me that the OT kick was no good.

First, isn't this the win we've been waiting for from Gheny? They've had a few years where they won every league game except against us and Witt. This was a big win for them and honestly, I hope it is something they can build on.

Second, this isn't the end of the world. I admit I was upset and disappointed at the result. We've become accustomed in the last 8 years of beating everyone but Witt, DPU and playoff opponents. There was a similar reaction when we lost to WashU in 2010. But I am reminded of 2006 when Witt won the league and went to the playoffs despite having lost to a 3-7 OWU.

It's a long season and Wabash can still accomplish its goals. This team will bounce back.

Again, congrats to Gheny.

Bishops are playing well. This is not a very good Case team this year.

The_Bishop

^^Agreed.  Bishop offense can't seem to string a complete drive together and D is playing really tough.

36-yard FG by OWU wide left.  Worried about how Case is hanging around this game.
