Any idea if the Red Squad game against Depauw will come off next Sunday?  DPU has cancelled all of their JV games to date.

I don't know about Sunday, but DePauw will send their JV squad to C'ville on 11/10.

WH:

Why was that?  Low numbers, too many injuries or a combination or...administrative decision?  Just curious.  I know that in the past, as the season progresses, some teams in our MIAA including Hope have had some JV games cancelled due to the numbers/injury aspect when the overall # of players is down for a particular year (not the case this year for us, however).

So, does Witt beat Allegheny and does OWU beat CM?
I am torn this week because I really want to see OWU undefeated on the 27th when Wabash comes in.  I also want that to be a huge game.  Maybe 5000 or so.  So I must root for the Scots this week out of loyalty, but trust they won't pull off a once in a lifetime upset of Wabash.
Belton and OWU's quarterback Espinosa battling for POY honors.  The winning QB should get tthat honor. Oh wait, that should have been the case last year.  It can't always be about the numbers.  It should be about wins and losses first and foremost.

D3DB:

The only info I have is from the Depauw website.  For their JV schedule, they have "cancelled" across the dates of the games:

http://www.depauw.edu/athletics/mens/football/schedule/

A quick scan of their roster does not indicate that they don't have the numbers.  It may be that with the coaching change, they just don't have the bandwidth to spend time on anything else other than getting the varsity ready for Saturdays.

Even if OWU loses to CMU, the game against Wabash will still be huge. The game against CMU is out of conference but in region. The CMU means nothing for the AQ bid. Not sure what it means for a Pool C.

It's definitely a pre-emptive "C" elimination game for OWU and a playoff elimination game for CMU. Big game!

Finally, heard through the grapevine that Wabash may enter into a home and home with Hampden-Sydney College sometime  next couple of years.  If that comes to fruition, it would be a great event for both schools.

We haven't won AT Wheaton in well over a decade.  I have high hopes for this weekend, but little confidence.

Forgot about the importance of a possible at large birth.  Regardless of the prognosticators, I think Ohio Weslyan will beat Carnegie Mellon and that they will be undefeated when Wabash comes to Selby in a couple weeks. If they can beat Carnegie Mellon, and be undefeated when Wabash comes that will be absolutely positively huge for their program. They will have high school players at the game and they will probably do everything they can to get as many people in the stands as possible.

Why?

I haven't looked at the season stats to date but if you take into account common opponents, CMU looks much stronger.  OWU was not impressive in their win over Depauw and only defeated Denison by 3 pts - both of those wins, however, were on the road.  CMU rolled both of those opponents on their home turf.  Looks like OWUs only chance is with Espinosa's arm against CMU's biggest weakness, their pass defense.  If CMU can pressure Espinosa and move the ball on an OWU defense that has not domininated any of its previous (and fairly weak) opponents, CMU takes this one at home.
