Combined record of teams Wooster has beaten in 2012: 0-16

Let that roll around in the mentals for a little bit.

Certainly makes me doubt they can beat Kenyon. Almost have to wonder if they will follow OWU's example and make a change at the end of this season. After 4 years of .500 or worse, you have to think that's on the table, right?

That will never happen. He will not be replaced unless he is ready to move on or retire.

Found it!  It wasn't that hard since nike is one of the few Woo posters recently.

But I agree Bishop, it's not like we're talking about hoops or baseball where those guys are bulletproof thanks to decades of excellence.  Not the case in football.

3 shutouts in last 4 games.  And one huge hiccup in the middle.  Oh well, way to finish strong, guys.

Wabash dominated today, but still had all of the issues that have plagued them all year - too many penalties and mistakes at the wrong time.

Knowing that our friends from Wabash are rather astute with statistics, I was wondering if one or more of you would be able to look up the following:

1) Number of senior classes that went 4-0 against DePauw (and years);

2) Cumulative score for that 4-year period.

3) Number of shutouts.

Would be curious if there was another senior class that had the success that Belton & Co. had against the Tigers.

But it was a great win (not to be negative, really)! Congrats for a 4-0 record, seniors. I'm jealous since we went 3-1 and lost my senior year...

I don't know whether or not this is true, but the rumor always was that Schmitz's wife is the general counsel for the school. In any event, the consensus seems to be that there should be a change, but there won't be. He's pretty well entrenched and the administration is too busy caring about basketball to do anything. Very disappointing season, again, for the Scots.

Congratulations to the 4-0 Class of 2013!

Last 4 years - Wabash 147, DePauw 26

Without researching further, I would guess that we won't find that differential in any other 4 year period in the history of the series.

This is the 10th Wabash class of Seniors to go 4-0 against DePauw.  Here is the list:

1905-08, Cumulative score 82-4, 3 shutouts
1921-24, 90-0, 4
1922-25, 90-0, 4
1923-26, 66-0, 4
1924-27, 62-7, 3
1949-52, 147-53, 1
1950-53, 164-32, 2
1951-54, 158-12, 3
1976-79, 71-29, 0
2009-12, 144-26, 2

This is also the first time since 1954 that Wabash leads both the overall series 57-53-9 and the series since the Monon Bell became the trophy, 38-37-6.

The class of 1980 got to keep the bell a 4th year since that game ended in a 22-22 tie. Their cumulative score was 79-44.

1909 and 1911 were ties as well, so Wabash would have had the Bell from 1903-1912, had it been in existence. (1910, of course, was the Sap Wilson year).

1909 scores for the four years were 30-4.
1911 scores for the four years were 12-0. (Two 0-0 ties and the missing year).
1912 scores would have been 74-0. Thanks to the 62-0 drubbing.

32+47+45+23=147

I was apparently incorrect about the differential, however.  The group from 1950-1954 must have been SOME LITTLE GIANTS!
