My Son is quite Interested in Butler. Is the campus + surrounding neighborhood  safe?

The campus is very safe and very beautiful.  The surrounding neighborhood is OK, but it is near 38th Street and Broad Ripple which are both sketchy areas.  My nephew graduated from Butler in May and he had no problems and loved every minute of his time at BU.

Would agree with this assessment, although I'd qualify it by saying that both the problem areas mentioned are several blocks from the campus itself.  Those that get themselves into trouble in those areas bring it on themselves.  Butler is a fantastic place to go to school.

Just read this week's issue of The Bachelor.   Wabash's starting QB the past two weeks, Michael Putko, is not making the trip due to a violation of team rules. :o  Looks like Andy Walsh and some of the freshmen QBs are going to get a chance to work with the number one offense on Saturday.

It will be interesting to see how long the starter will play IF Wabash gets out to a big lead.  I am assuming Walsh will be the starter but that is only an assumption.  Based on his performances from last year, Walsh is more than capable of stepping in and leading the team.  I am curious to see a couple of the freshmen, including Belton's brother.

Given the limitations of travel rosters (do they still exist?), don't know how many rhynies will go to Meadville.  Guess there was some credibility to that short-lived mystery post  :-X   Will this development alter Wally's 40+ spread?   :D

Sure was.  Not sure it will impact the outcome one bit.  Opportunity for game experience for backup which may come in handy down the road.

Mu Son went on an unofficial to Butler and a camp. He really liked the campus. We spent some time off campus. Yes it is a little sketchy, but not any worse than some of the neighborhoods around OSU.

Wabash Hokie

Looks like Allegheny will have a live video feed for their Homecoming game vs. Wabash.

Here is the link:

Hope it is up and working at game time.

will be attending Oberlin-Wittenberg game tonight and should have a good idea how the bishops will stand up against them after the game.

Wabash Hokie

DePauw / Kenyon game notes.  Included is a chart of the states where the DePauw players went to high school.  As expected, Indiana and Illinois are the top two.  Missouri is #3 with 12 players most, if not all, from the St. Louis area.  Wabash has zero.

I'd urge those killing time before their game to turn on this CASE/LINFIELD game. Case is playing tough.

I watched the first couple of series, but the feed got choppy and I went to live stats.  Not sure if my home wireless is at fault or if my people back in the northwest are causing a traffic jam...either way, it did look like Case was holding their own a bit early on.  14-0 now though early in the 2nd.

I mean-- they're certainly outmatched. It's not gonna be close. Still. It's fun to see the Case D have some success.

BashDad

Also, check your wireless. My feed looks great.

wally_wabash

The culprit is my crummy lapper.  Time for an upgrade in that department.

I'm not really sure what kind of commentary I should provide on this Wabash/Allegheny game.  This is ugly.

I'll add some. I want Andy Walsh's arm on Michael Putko's body. It's so nice to see someone throwing like that, I don't care who it's against.

smedindy

Has normalcy returned? Wooster leads Hiram 21-0 early in the 2nd.

DPU and Kenyon tied at 7 midway through the 2nd.

Allegheny's commentators are pretty darned competent and entertaining... they've done their homework.
