I'd say Auburn / Alabama, Stanford / Cal and Michigan / OSU are the D-1 equivalents to the Monon Bell game. But ours is more concentrated - it has higher molarity of antipathy than the others!

I think part of the problem with comparing the D-IA and D-III rivalries is the sheer numbers. I went to a Texas/Tx.A&M game a few years ago and, while it certainly didn't feel as intense as the Monon Bell Game, I was in a stadium with 85,000 people! That sure makes it seem more intense even if it really isn't.

Pat, I don't see how preventing "rookies" from editing their posts improves the site.  After all, it would have been easier to make my post more readable than to put the correction in another post.

Used to be allowed. Other rookies showed they couldn't be trusted with the privilege.

Smeds - sometimes I wonder about you...

Definitions because I certainly didn't know either word;

Molarity = The molar concentration of a solution, usually expressed as the number of moles of solute per liter of solution.

Antipathy = 1. A strong feeling of aversion or repugnance. See Synonyms at enmity.
2. An object of aversion.

Should have paid attention in Chem 3 and listened to Herzog or Rosenberg!

But I was talking about d1 rivalries - aren't two of your three (Harvard/Yale, Army/Navy) actually d3! ;)
*scratches head* Chuck, you've posted on these boards for several years now, and you still don't know who's D3 and who isn't?  Army and Navy are independent members of D1, and the Ivy League is in Div. 1-AA (which is still D1 in my book.)

Or maybe the winky-face was meant to indicate you were joking?  To the extent that these two rivalries have a "D3 feel" to them, that's a plus to me.

BTW, I didn't catch the 'Barry' reference (Barry Sanders?)

Are you often mistaken for Barry Sanders?  :D

BB16 in Chem 3???  I'm sure Chem 1 is more like it (coming from a fellow Chem 1 alum)!  Dr. Z is the best!

YIKES! Chem 1 was scary enough. The two worst grades I got in college were Chem 1 and Phys 1A.

So you're saying that more moles are drowned at the Bell game than at these others?  Sounds pretty cruel to me...

One of my lasting memories is going to my first class as a freshman - Bio 1.  Munford walks in and says that if you aren't going be a Biology or Chemistry major with plans of going on to med. school (or something to that effect), that you didn't really need to be in that class (i.e. wasting his time).

That was the last Bio 1 class I attended.  I'm sure having Bio 1A with Brooks was much better anyway!

As far as English courses, I'm proud to say I avoided all English courses until Mass Communications with Herzog my second semester senior year.

Anyway, on to better things, like whipping Denison today.

Just call it the Avogadro Bowl.
