Interesting note from Kenyon's roster......

Their starting QB, Jake Bates (SO/5-11/185) is from Noblesville, IN  (Noblesville HS)....   Me thinks it's going to be a tough one for him.

If he played at Noblesville, he didn't play QB - McKiernan has been a 4 year starter there (senior this year).

The Wabash two-deep for this week shows 6 seniors, 2 of them as #1 at their position  (Scola and Diaz-Aguilar).     And 2 of the seniors share a #2 place (DL)--the only spot where Wabash lists an either or on defense.  The list also shows 10 sophomores or freshmen.  The LG defense is young

Also shows Klembara as #3 RB - didn't he play LB last week against OWU?  RB ranks must be getting thin.

Nice to see Austin Brown on the 2 deep at safety.  Gotta rep my fellow Panther!

Grant played RB his freshman year. I am not sure if he made the switch to LB this year or last year, but he has been very impressive the past 2 games.

It seems Klembara has been waiting behind quality depth so far at Wabash and is now bringing his talent to the field.

If you look at his bio from the Wabash Website....   He was quite an all-purpose yardage stud in High School in Texas.  6,933 All-Purpose yards, 70 TD's  :o    http://sports.wabash.edu/roster.aspx?rp_id=1440&path=football

Just another example of the depth this football team has built over the past few years.

Just saw that Former Wabash Coach, Jake Gilbert has his Westfield High Shamrocks ranked #1 in Indiana 5A.

Congrats to Coach Gilbert on his success at Westfield!

BB16-  How about some good trivia questions like "Cody Buresh just tied Dave Adich's Wabash sack record (set in 1987)....who was the starting OLB that year? Suppose he remembers Adich getting those sacks?

A few minutes ago I put up some questions for Caveman and other Wabash people. I've taken down that post.  Too particular to Wabash.  Pat, others who read; my apologies.  This is an NCAC Board.

I did not see your questions, but I do not see what is wrong with asking questions specific to one school or another. There was a great discussion about Gheny, that, though I do not know much about the Gators, I found very interesting due to the team/administration dynamics and general NCAC info. Where else should Wabash questions be posted other than the NCAC board, it is not like you are putting them over on the CCIW board!

I guess my point I am trying to make is that though a post may pertain to only one school, the overall themes can either be applied elsewhere or found interesting by other posters.

I agree.  sigma, unless you received some negative feedback, I see no issue with posting specific questions or comments about one school/team.  Although much of the discussion here is Bash-centric, I think the Wabash posters have made it clear that they welcome discussion from other schools (in addition to the Gheny discussion, the OWU posters and HCAlum have been warmly welcomed).

Questions for the board and some general thoughts on this week's conference schedule

Allegheny @ Oberlin -   Did Oberlin peak at the start of the year?  Is their roster size beginning to have an impact as we head into the 2nd half of the season?    Is this Gheny's best chance to win a game?

DePauw @ Ohio Wesleyan -   With two conference losses,  the Bishops are not playing for a championship anymore....   Do they play now for wins and Espo records?  Does Depauw take another step forward this week?

Kenyon @ Wabash
  -    Does Wabash use the next couple of weeks to 1. Win   2.  Develop depth?  Especially at RB?  3.  Is this a dangerous stretch of games for the Little Giants with Witt (NCAC Championship Game) coming on 11/09?

Wooster @ Wittenberg  - Does Barnes have a big day?   Is this one closer than anyone thinks?   Denison kept it close until the 4th qtr last week against the Tigers.  Is there a crack in the Witt team this year?

As long as we don't denigrate or squeeze out others on the board, I don't see any issues in raising specific wabash questions here.

I'll answer a few of your questions, bashbro...

- This week is it for Allegheny.  I can't see them traveling to Greencastle next week and winning.  And after that they get Denison who I don't think they can beat and then at Witt which is going to be Senior Day for Witt and their boatload of seniors and possibly a last gasp effort for Witt to get into the playoffs if they were to lose at Wabash on 11/9.  So yes, this is it for Allegheny.

- Curious to see how DePauw does at Selby this week.  They're improving.  I think they'll struggle keeping OWU off the board, but Hunt is going to sling it around just as much as Espinosa does.  That game might take 3.5 hours to play.

- I don't think these next three games are dangerous for Wabash.  They're locked in on the one at a time mantra.  They'll deal with Wittenberg when it's Witt week.  I don't know if you develop depth halfway through a season.  I think you've either got dudes or you don't have dudes.  Fortunately, Wabash has dudes.  Hopefully they run out of bad luck before they run out of dudes.

- I think Barnes and Hackel can do some things against Wittenberg's defense.  I think Reed Florence can do whatever he wants against Wooster's defense.  I'm curious to see this game...I'm starting to think that Wittenberg plays better defense that I thought they would this year.  I'm starting to think it's time to toss out the Butler thing entirely...Butler was ready, Witt wasn't and a bloodbath ensued.  Witt has been pretty lights out since then.

I hope this FOOTBALL board doesn't turn into a "Sugar Plums and Gumdrops"....  ultra sensitive to absolutely anything that can be interpreted in any way.... tea party.   It's a Football board, with Football Fans....  (More and More former players with valuable insight)

Now, staying respectful and as positive as possible should also be a goal.

SigmaLou,

Just when I think we've turned the corner with you, you throw that up here!!  C'mon man...

Caveman - Dave Adich #56 from Munster Indiana :). His motor never stopped!  Another comment on that sack record, I just happened to be sitting next to Blair Hammer last week when they announced the record!  I know FirstDown remembers but how big of game did Blair play against Witt in the playoffs in 2002!

*I hope I didn't offend anyone with this post.  :).
