Whoever wins the coin toss.  ;D

Both teams have a lot on the line - for the OWU senior class, how they finish their careers and for Wooster, how far they put last year's atrocious season in the rear view mirror.  I give Espinosa and the Bishops the edge in this one.

Ok Board....  this is an ALL-PLAY question.

A couple of times on this board this year the topic has been on the NEW targeting rule....   Watch the following video from Saturday's Wabash vs. Witt game and all please vote on whether you think it is targeting or not....  I will withhold my personal feelings until after the fans on here have a chance.   Take a look.

The play is at  2:59:16  -  be sure to watch the slow motion replays that follow the play... gives everyone a great look at it.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

DIII refs making DIII calls. I have seen enough bad calls in my few years watching DIII ball to know that these refs will make mistakes at least a couple of times a game. In all honesty I am suprised that this is the first time we have seen an ejection with Wabash's hard hitting defense.

I think he would've avoided a flag if he didn't mug over the receiver like a dick.

Not targeting, just a hard football hit.

I agree with this because of how late the flag is. But I still don't think it warranted the targeting foul. Call unsportsmanlike conduct. It's still 15 yards without giving him the gate.

IF ANYTHING the flag should have been a dead ball taunting call - unsportsman like penalty.......maximum   They made a mistake on this one..  and the NCAA laid down a blanket rule this year on ALL Divisions that is unfair to Div. III players and actually officials.....  NO REPLAY... NO EJECTIONS.

It was hard and loud and the contact was high and in the split second where the game official has to decide whether or not the the ball carrier was "targeted" I can see how the call is made, especially given the "when in doubt, throw 'em out" instruction that the NCAA has given to the officials (which is a whole separate set of horseplop).  The real error is if they take away the first half of this week's game.  That part can be fixed if the league chooses to do so.

I would love to go back and see the Swope targeting call that cost him the second half of the Witt/Wooster game that was overturned by the league.  I want to see how the plays are different.

I agree with the spirit and intent of the targeting call in general but I think the suspension should be reviewable on all plays and not automatic.

Barring some kind of highly unlikely change of heart from the league office, it looks like HH is going to be out for the first half.
