It isn't Freshman of the Year, but still...you kind of look for FR as the class year when looking at candidates. Totally slipped my mind he could be eligible.

And I remember having this discussion when Tony Sutton was NOTY because he was a sophomore and a transfer. Not that anyone argued that Sutton wasn't worthy. I just think people assume it's a freshman award. I got caught up in that myself and didn't consider Flynn when I should have.

LG, I like your new tag line from Coach Raeburn's Monon Bell Chapel Talk!  Classic!

Coach of the Year - Joe Fincham

Was there even any thought put into giving this award to Fincham?  I mean, Witt was the pre-season favorite to win the NCAC and they did what they were voted to do.  Doing what you are supposed to do warrants COY honors?

I'm sorry, but I guess guiding a team that was picked to finish 2nd to last in the pre-season to a 3rd place finish and more than tripling their win total from a year ago wasn't enough to give Colaprete the nod?   ???

It happens.  Coach Fincham did a tremendous job.  Coach Colaprete did a great job as well, but this is one that I think Fincham deserves.  Not an easy thing to go into the Hollett and handle this year's Wabash team the way that they did.

Alright gang, never afraid to put myself out there and be made to look foolish later, here are my picks for the tournament...

Second round;
Mount Union over Witt
Wesley over Ithaca

North Central over Platteville
Bethel over Wartburg

Whitewater over Franklin
Linfield over Hampden-Sydney

John Carroll over Hobarty
MHB over Rowan

Semifinals:
Mount Union over North Central
MHB over Linfield

Stagg Bowl:
Mount Union 24, MHB 21

I probably just saved you five week's worth of Saturdays.  Or I could be completely wrong.   :)

The only thing saving me from picking Franklin to be Whitewater is the disaster that occured in Bluffton, Ohio a couple weeks ago. Had that NOT (edit) occured, I'd probably pick them.

I picked your 1st 3 rounds almost identical,  I just don't think N. Central gets by a Battle tested Bethel squad....

I picked Linfield to beat MHB and Mount and bring the hardware back to Oregon.  We shall see.
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

I picked NCC over Bethel, too, though I suspect that would be a great game. I have Mount winning over MHB/ in the final as well.

We all have a right to be silly. Looks like Bluffton saved you from exercising that right in this one. Franklin will never "be" Whitewater.  I'm assuming you meant it literally since you edited the post elsewhere.  ;D

Great job to all of the little giants who got honors this week... Also congratulations. To nate scola for getting defensive player of the year.... I no scola was taking out of a lot of games early do to the giants being up big early in a lot of games... I wonder fellow Wallys what numbers scola could of really got for Wabash... If D3 football gives out any defensive awards this year scola should be a strong candidate... The numbers he put out are amazing considering he was taking out of some games... If the facts are right from what I heard Witt played all there starters in every game the whole way.... Wabash didn't....... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Your facts are wrong.  The only times the starters didn't come out would have been Wabash. Butler, OWU, Wooster games they may have played till the end of the 3rd.  Whoever told you that was exaggerating/fibbing.

As a Wooster Scot loyalist and supporter, it was great to see so many of our players represented.  Especially pleased that Richard Barnes was 2nd team All NCAC at quarterback.  Espinosa is a tremendous qb, no question about it.  But Barnes had a great year in large part because he had a coach( no sarcastic remarks here about Coach of the Year)  who laid down the gauntlet to him and most importantly, Mr. Barnes ran with it.
Well done to all those associated with the team this year.  Next year looks very bright indeed.

Maybe into some of the 4th.  In a few games, starters were out before the end of the first half
