I was reading somewhere on D3football.com or possibly  more specifically on post patterns about the modus operandi of the different regions something about how Texas and the South in general have the behemoth lines, the West has the exotic offenses, the East has the speed and Ohio and Pennsylvania play is the toughest.

I believe that's in this week's Around the Nation.

wooscott: Very interesting, OWU is not a top flite team, okay, but not including Witt as a top flite team after they killed Wooster last week is somewhat surprising.  I'm looking forward to the COW comments after this next game. I'm almost sure it will be, if OWU wins, how could COW lose to a lower flite OWU? ;D

Win or lose I will be on here giving kudos to the winners.

Wooscot,

I dont know anything about this years recruiting for Wooster, but given the shift from the old style offense to the new, I would think it would be hard to recruit tailbacks/fullbacks.  Who would want to go to a school when that school has essentially done away with the position you play?  Granted, I think Sheppard is a good runner, but he will need backups and depth at that position.  I think Woo has hurt themselves in this aspect.

MacLeod,

I agree with your statements.

Kcreds,

this is not to say that OWU is a bottom tier team, but it is possible for a top tier to lose to a bottom.  Look at Oberlin beating Woo in 2003.  That year, the obies beat essentially the same team that ran the table the following year.

Except that Tony Sutton didn't play in that game.

Look at Kenyon in 2005!

Valid point Scotsfan.  I was giving the benefit of the doubt that Wooster is having a rebuilding season, and may finish fifth, or below, this year.

DC,

I am sorry, but Tony Sutton not playing in that game has nothing to do with the loss to Oberlin. Fact of the matter is, Woo should have won that game with or without Tony Sutton.  Unfortunately, the powers that be decided to run an offense as if Tony Sutton were in the game.  I am sorry, Rob Hooper and Dave Puckett were great backs, but they were no Sutton.  Their running styles were completely different and thus, called for a different game plan.  IMO.

Wow, I think someone from Woo should go and find the Defense back in the dorms!!  Sounds like OWUs D is gettin blown off the ball, allowing OWUs runners to get two-three yards before they are touched.  Oh well, at least OWU decided to throw the ball from the three yard line, which lead to an interception.  Who would have thought, sounds like Woo's secondary is its strong point right now???

Bishops 14-0.  Bishops drive from own 15.

Bash up 3-0 with Depauw threatening

Woo FINALLY stops OWU's running game

bashcville

End 1Q. DPU missed a 36 yd FG. Bash still up 3-0

DarkSide-D

So far scots have had 3 drives, Punt, Punt, Int.  scots finally mustering a drive on fourth drive

Go Bash, get to the playoffs undefeated.  Bashcville, have you checked out the RPI-Union video feed.  there is a link on the front of d3football.  Pretty sweet picture.

Woo forced to punt

DarkSide-D

Another good showing by Woo d.  Force OWU to punt again.  So far OWU's drive summary has been, TD, TD, INT, Punt, Punt.  Hopefully Woo has figured out OWUs offense.  Now the Woo offense needs to get some points
