So, Capital beat Witt 54-0.  Do we really have much of a chance?  Just how tough IS the OAC?

smedindy

That was a long time ago. Plus, Capital has to get past a tough and ready North Central team.

Albion? Hmmm...the NCAA really went geographical for the most part. I would have probably sent Lakeland to Wabash, Albion to Mt. Union and MSJ to Augie. Alas.

I remember the 1997 game between Wabash and Albion as being a very exciting, intense game.  Yesterday's Bell Game reminded me of that game with its intensity.

Great job Little Giants! Keep it rolling.

At first glance, the Wabash pass D better be ready. Albion loves to throw the ball.

After losing to Adrian, they seemed to have an easy time in the MIAA, but the MIAA is pretty much down .

I don't really want to talk about Capital (or North Central) yet because you have to win one at a time. Albion awaits.

All right we need some info:

Albion evidently likes to pass?

Any info on defense?

Congrat's to coach Stanley, and the new look Lords, after starting the season with three straight losses, finishing at 6-4 is a great record! I'm not sure that the young talent in Gambier, fully understands what they have accomplished! In 2002, I watched 27 Lords take on a Witt team with well over 100 players and loose 79-0. at that time football at Kenyon was about dead! So thanks to coach Stanley and staff for making this Lords fan believe again!

If Cap gets through the first round, we'll just go ahead and pack it in, save Cap a bus trip, and send them on through to the regional finals.   I'm not even sure why we have a tournament at all...we ought to just crown the OAC champ as national champs.

Of course we have a shot!  We have the home field.  We have the talent.  We have the drive.  A lot of things are going Wabash's way this year.  Do we have much of a chance??  That's not how champions approach games.

;D  And....you have that strong history of dominance against the OAC (Mount).  Nothing would make me happier then to have to travel to Crawfordsville (???) to play the "WABASH ALWAYS FIGHTS" boys on their home turf.  Well, unless Mount makes it through and Capital happens to pull off the upset.

Remember though, Mount is SO VUNERABLE, they DID lose a game (gasp) finally in the regular season.  Hopefully, we can maybe give someone a good game.   8)

Albion's offense appears, on paper, to be pretty close to what Wabash does.  The passing numbers stand out at first glance, but they have a sound running game as well.  And also like Wabash their running yards and carries are split pretty evenly amongst three guys.  They're scoring a ton of points lately.  Passing efficience seems to be a spot where Wabash has a pretty distinct edge.  Albion's qb has thrown 11 picks and completes just 51% of his passes.  Clearly, the Wabash secondary will have a challenge on Saturday, but the same can be said for Albion's defense.

It's going to be an interesting game to say the least.  Should be a very competitive region.

smedi, fiji, Bashdad and others:

Albion indeed likes to pass; alot of down and outs and post patterns with multiple receivers.  They have improved each of the last 4 successive weeks and are a good team. Their QB Wasil has a strong arm and is mobile, yet if 'Bash gets their defensive pass rush ramming their O line and pressure, that can be taken care of.  Hope, unfortunately did not do that when we played them.  Athough Hope was not a great team, we did not play up to our potential and could have had a good chance at beating Albion had they played like they were capable.  Hope did not deserve to win that day at all and Albion did.

But obviously, that is all in the past.  It should be a good game down in C'ville.  I wouldn't mind making the trip if I can work out the schedule (depending on the weather of course, since it "ain't my team that's playing you guys down there! ;D).  A nice trip back down memory lane to your stadium would be fun.

usee,

Well, since you have resorted to name calling like a 12 yr old girl rather than intelligently responding to my argument, then I'll join you:  You're an idiot.

We had agreed to disagree on the subject, and it was done.  For some reason, you brought it back up with a comment.  I added back the same argument I had mentioned before that you decided to ignore.  Just because someone doesn't change their view to match yours during a discussion, doesn't mean you should act like a child and call the person stupid.

If you finish up discussions by name calling, then you can just stay on your own board.   Let me know when Augie or any other wing-t team proves me wrong.

NCACers,

Congrats to Wabash and its fans on the big win and great season.  Make the NCAC proud in the playoffs.  Congrats to Kenyon on the great season.  Never thought I'd see the Lords finish with a better record than my Tigers and finish second in the conference.  Wow, can you say "coach of the year?"

Congrats to Allegheny on finishing up a dismal season on a high note over my Tigers.  It would have been nice if we could have finished with a win.  Here's hoping this bad taste festers for a year and Witt comes out fighting next season.

Good luck to Wabash in the playoffs.

Okay, I shouldn't have looked over Albion and I probably shouldn't have been negative about a potential Capital game.  Sorry, but it's exciting to look ahead.

That being said, what is it with these MUC people?  Sorry that we have a proud program and great fans.  Your continued smack talking for 3(!) years after a game  refelects very poorly on your school.  Grow up.

Skunks - of course there's a couple of CCIW teams in the way of Capital and Mt. Union.

I do think that Wabash, et. al. needs to thank their lucky stars that Hardin - Simmons lost.

If Hardin Simmons wins, they're a C - that means Wilkes (most likely) is out.

If Wilkes isn't in the East - then either Capital or Mt. Union goes east.

Then that leaves the North short one - and Whitewater would move in. Oops.

That western slot would be filled by Hardin Simmons or another Texas team, since a flight would be involved anyway.

By having Hardin Simmons lose, then all of a sudden each bracket becomes rather tidy.

To which Board will the Wabash faithful be taking their discussion as the Little Giants move through the Playoffs?
