Hee!

That's great that Wooster is stepping up to play JCU. Let's hope that it works out better than Witt's games against Capital!

Smeds,

I second that thought.  I believe that the guys on the Woo squad will be gearing up for this one.  Not only is it the home opener, but it will be against the OAC.  I am sure they all understand the implications of this one.  Beyond that, I believe they will be biting at the bit to show how good they really are next season.

One last thing, Congrats to Drush for third team all region.  I think he should have been placed higher, but then thats just me.  Yes I am biased in that claim, but I think everyone who watched him, or has ever played against him will agree that he is a brick wall, reinforced with cement and steal beams!

Congrats on the NCAC guys on the All Region team!  Good representation.  Great to see Harbaugh named to the first team and Pynenberg to the 2nd team for Wabash.  DARKSIDE - still bummed about your assessment on Pynenberg following the Wooster game but I will let you in on a little secret, we thought he was out for the year with an ACL following the prior week's game.  He was at the Doc's office (Shelbourne - Wabash grad and one of the best ACL docs in the country!) at 7 AM that Monday morning in Indianapolis.  It was just strained with no tears.  That likely impacted whatever you saw.  That kid is amazing and has 2 years left!  Watch him next year if you have the chance.  Anyone else would echo that comment - especially if you have seen him more then once.

Is anyone else puzzled with the Offensive Player of the Year going to Kimmel (RB) from Anderson?  He was the BEST offensive player in our entire North region?  I'll save the HCAC comments...but I will say this...Anderson was 5-5 with 3 of those wins against teams with combined records of 5-25!

Lastly, anyone notice the picture of the Monon Bell in this weeks Sports Illustrated?  It shows the bell and tells a brief version of the famed "Mexican Heist."  Pretty good take!

Bashbacker16:
For what it's worth, just a little clarification.  A sprain of any ligament, including and ACL IS a tear - they are graded in degrees. ;D  In the specific case you are talking about, it is a mild partial tear grade I sprain(tear) within the substance of the ligament itself as opposed to a complete tear grade III sprain(tear).  Obviously, a grade II sprain(tear) is somewhere inbetween.  Also, Shelbourne is indeed one of the best ACL surgeons in the country.  Glad your Wabash player only had a mild injury.  BTW, enjoyed my recent visit to Wabash campus at the playoff game vs. Albion.  It was great returning after all these years!  Anyway, best wishes for a wonderful upcoming holiday season.

Mention of the Bell in Sports Illustrated and the complete story of the Mexican Heist...it is pretty amazing.  I would love to meet the Wally that pulled this off!

Can't you just hear the DPU Dean saying, "I probably shouldn't show you this but..."  - hilarious!!!

LMAO :D That was one of the funniest stories I have read in a while. Thanks BASH

Just and FYI in case some didn't notice - Mike Russell and Dustin Huff both dressed yesterday for the Wabash basketball game. Russell came in as a reserve 2-guard, taking Jimmy Owens' spot in the rotation, and while he's a bit rusty he's going to make some things happen when he's on the court.

Smeds,

Any PT yet for Huff?  I am telling you he can shoot the lights out...

smedindy

Nope. Last night was the first time they both dressed. Next Saturday they play at Denison, then it will be a while (Dec. 30) before the next game.

Don't know if anyone saw the article on ESPN.com, but apparently their writers can't get their facts straight.

Article discusses the Stagg bowl, but the headline reads "Kmic carries Rowan into D-III championship game"   Wow!?

Oldguy,

It wasn't hatred of Witt, just historical perspective and that you can win with class.  Sorry to have jumped into your personal circle jerk.  I'm out.

They saw the error of their ways and corrected it.

Here's hoping that Russ Harbaugh is named the Gags' Trophy winner tomorrow. As it is based on the total person, I don't see a more deserving guy on the list. Really !!!
