Good luck Bash fans. Hoping the North region can be the one that sends 2 pool C's to the dance, but I fear the South region will be the one sending 2 teams with Centre and Hardin Simmons. I'll admit I'm behind researching the East region, but I have a hard time thinking the national committee shuts them out of pool C representation.

I don't.

How often of an occurrence is it to shutout a region?

We don't have six or seven at-large bids any more. We have five.

Denison is the lone NCAC bid to the tournament.

They will go to Mount Union for the first game of the playoffs.

So "SOS" is more important than actual records vs. RRO.  Good to know.  ::)

I don't know why Hanover isn't headed to Mount rather than Denison. The only possibility is Hanover had played Centre and they didn't want a potential rematch (even though there is no way Hanover would beat Mount Union to get there). It's not like it's geography based because anyone that either team could potentially play in the first two rounds either are in range of both (Mount Union, North Central, Centre, Wash & Jeff) or more than 500 miles of both (Wartburg, Bethel).

Definitely one of the surprises in the field.  Hanover to Mount Union seemed obvious.

It can't be avoiding a rematch because they did paired up Hardin Simmons and UMHB.

interesting poll on d3 front page! once again on the bubble (but not chosen)! does Bash or NCAC get a fair shake, or not? i am interested in opinions of other posters! what do you think? have we been included when on the bubble...or always excluded? or is it a blessing that THIS season is over?

sigma one

Considering what this team faced all year, I'm inclined to say that it is a blessing that this season is over.  Playoffs would have been a wonderful prize for hanging together.  But finishing with a victory in the Bell Game and beating Wittenberg in Springfield are both feathers in the LGs caps.  They go out on a high note, with good memories, rather than with a loss in the post season.  Good memories of a season  courageously played.  They can look back forever to say how well the year went in the aftermath of tragedy--9-1, with a co-NCAC championship,  WAF.

Sometimes we're in, sometimes we're out. That's the bubble.

The other "C" teams had better resumes (SOS, etc.). I don't think it's a shock any of them are in the field.

Agree. I think the predicted bracket broke it done pretty well.

And honestly, like sigma one said above, I'm kind of glad it's over anyway. The players go out at 9-1, conference co-champs, and the Bell after a season that they will remember for all the wrong reasons. It's just better this way.
