BB#16, was that the qb from Avon?...its a little similar to ND bringing in 3 guys this semester that count against last year...sort of makes sense to me...not all of us have the $ and maybe the kid wants to be an engineer...to each his own...

Scotty,

Good guess, maybe...  ;D   If it were  ???, couldn't help but think he was a Shafer-clone (6'4" 205) with potentially better "wheels", better athlete, and better passer.- does a D1 school put anything in writing?  Curious, did Shafer have scholarship offers?

On your ND remark, I think it is quite different then a kid entering school early.  Anyway, hoping that Huff is the guy so it wasn't exactly a "need area" anyway.  We should be just fine at QB.  With the receivers returning, SmedIndy could be the QB...ha!  I still think the gray shirt thing is weird though.

smedindy

Gray shirts sometimes happen in D-3 land, especially at the lower cost state schools. Not often, but it happens. We had a discussion about them earlier.

Oh, and I don't know about QB - my arm makes funny grinding noises when I throw a softball nowadays.

I have this mental picture of you with a bandana on your head wearing your old Delt IM sweatshirt!  I could cover the PA for you.

BB#16, dont know about Shafer's D1 opportunities...
just want him back healthy for another year...after he graduates, im curious who Wooster has in the wings...it looked like the other qb, not Reiff, was an option guy...let's see what the recruiting class looks like...by the way, is it "gray" or "grey"?...

Wooster's schedule next season is an unusual one. They have six home games, including the first four of the season. They don't play their first road game until Oct. 7. If they don't get off to a good start, the season could be over half way through the schedule.

Scotty, do you know why O'Connell left Wooster? It certainly couldn't be because of playing time. He was almost a lock to start at cornerback and punt returner next year.

wally_wabash

Even more quirky will be the '07 schedule.  Presumably Wooster's non-conference games vs. JCU and Waynesburg are at the very least home and homes and the Stringer game vs. CWRU will continue one would expect.  You could see Wooster not having a home game in '07 until Oct. 6 vs. OWU!  That's some serious road warrior stuff.

I wouldn't worry about Wooster's season being over before it ever really gets started.  The non-conference games don't matter quite as much as they used to.  Witt started 0-3 last year and made a strong push for the NCAC title.  Nobody's season is over until they lose that second conference game...then it's over.

seinfeld, probably a combination of things...sometimes going from a very large high school program to D3 can present a problem...also, he is from Indiana and had always considered IU...dont know about him being a "lock" as both starting corners return along with Adams back at corner and punt returner...the Scots will be fine and will surprise some folks i believe...

Wally, let us not forget the Gators of 03.  They went 0-3 in Non-con and turned around to sweep the conference schedule.  Anymore, anything can happen.

Scotty,

I second your motion.

CWRU and COW are scheduled thru '09

And probably beyond if the UAA / NCAC scheduling thing is extended.

Duh...I forgot about the UAA agreement.  Of course the Stringer game is safe for years to come.  I still want to see this beast of a trophy.  Is it on display somewhere in the PEC?  I'll try to check it out the next time I'm in Wooster for a game at the Papp.

UAA/NCAC or not, the game makes sense geographically, academically. etc.
