Another thing that was bad about Saturday, was the wonderful new rule change with the clock.  Being that it was my first experience with it,  I don't see any reason why D3 should have been affected by this change.  We have no replay and almost no television coverage.   I know, one rule for the NCAA probably covers all Divisions, but I still don't like it.

Has the 2-Minute Drill become the 3 to 4 minute drill  ???

I bet many of the players that hold historical offensive records for their respective schools, conferences, or divisions, don't realize that their records just became a little harder to reach.

Ok...I got that off my chest.

Disclaimer: My comments are not meant to say that Wabash lost the game because of this rule, the clock or anything other then getting soundly beat by a quality team that wanted it more.
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Not that I like agreeing with MacLeod, but Wabash did score twice in the last four minutes of the game.  The Wabash/Franklin tilt went for well over 3 hours, so I didn't really notice the clock that much.  Maybe it was just me?

Go to General Football for a Rules Changes discussion.

Wabash v Franklin had 148 plays, 11 of which were in OT.  So during regular time the # of plays was about previous averages.  Of course w/out the new rules there would have been more plays.

I think in my state of shock, which obviously I am still in, reality clouded a bit.   Also, the clock always moves faster when you are behind.  Ever noticed that?

I will seek treatment tomorrow  ;)

I thought that was no longer the case now that Indiana observes Daylight Savings Time. :)

Hats off to the Wooster JV team for an exciting come from behind 22-21 win over John Carroll sunday afternoon. Woosters special teams blocked 2 punts and returned them for touchdowns, The defense forced a safety all in the 2nd half.  As stated by others Woosters O and D lines, going no huddle in the 3rd quarter and the heat really seemed to take a toll on a game Waynesburg team in the 2nd half saturday. I have to admit I did find the coal trains shaking the stadium added a very nice touch to the game as well...

This may have been asked an answered in the past, but I'm curious as to how the Gheny-Hiram game factors into the NCAC's nonconference record. Does it really go down in the books as a win and a loss for the conference?

Beyond that game though, this coming weekend has the potential to see all of our teams go unbeaten. That could be just a fantasy, but as I see it, there's no clear favorite in most of these games, and unlike previous weeks where Capital, Wash & Jeff and a couple others were clear favorites, we don't have a game this Saturday that fits that mold. Several pretty even matchups in store -- and edging out some opponents could be nice for the conference's pride and rep.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Since this is a conference game, it wouldn't factor into the non-conference record at all.  I think that's what you're asking.

While the game is between two teams in our conference, this game is not being counted as a conference matchup. It's being logged as a nonconference game because these two teams already have seven other NCAC games on their schedules. I don't know the entire reasoning behind that, but that's the reason I ask if it's pretty much going to be a wash when it comes to determining the NCAC's nonconference record.

Wabash actually had this happen with Earlham a few years ago.  We were already scheduled to play they before we joined the conference and thus it was a non conference game.  (2002-2003)  Non conference schedules are set many years in advance.

Aha!  I figured there was something I was missing with the initial question.  I hope it does count in the non-conference records - the NCAC could use the win!
