Dunno. I hoped it would run its course by itself but it didn't so I had to enforce it this afternoon.

edit:
I've tried emailing you but the email keeps coming back undeliverable. Will you try sending me an email at the address in my profile? Thanks.

Yeah.  Sorry about that.  My e-mail has been jacked up for over a week now.  I can send mail, but I can't receive it.  The techies keep assuring me it will be fixed "real soon."

I thought about complaining about it taking them so long to fix it, but then I realized I only have myself to blame.  If only I had gone to Kenyon I would be smart enough to fix my own e-mail.:-*

I think I can still receive e-mail at my backup account, wittfoot@wittfootball.com.  I'll try e-mailing everyone from there.

As far as the representation in the playoffs, if there is a tie at the top there is a "Big Ten" rule.  The team that has gone the longest without a playoff birth gets the automatic qualifier.

Is this a new rule?  In 1997 there was a three-way tie for first place in the NCAC between Allegheny, Wooster and Wittenberg.  That year Allegheny got the playoff bid despite having just gone to the playoffs the year before.

Pat Coleman

Well, there was no automatic bid then. It didn't matter who won a conference tiebreaker because the NCAA selected all 16 as at-large teams.

There is a "Policies and Procedures" link on the NCAC website, but it requires a password.

Bet there are some on here who would lobby for opponent's record as a tiebreaker!   ;)

Maybe one of the Kenyon grads can crack the password for us.

Man, go on a four day vacation and all heck breaks loose...I guess I'll just stick to what I know.

Upset that I couldn't go to/listen to the Witt/Bash game on Saturday - relied on text messages at random points throughout the game to know what was going on.

Not sure if it's been said already (I may have overlooked somebody saying it amongst all the other posts), and even if it has been said, it probably can't be said enough, but best wishes to Geoff Walker on a full recovery.  I don't care if it's a huge rivalry or anything; seeing an athlete have a serious injury like that makes anybody cringe, especially (in my mind, anyway) collegiate athletes.

Anyway, Witt needs to be careful this week.  OWU is not an easy place to play, and Witt runs the risk of underestimating OWU on record alone, especially coming off the big win against Bash.  I said the Earlham game was the definition of a trap game, and Witt struggled through that one.  This OWU game is a perfect scenario for a big letdown game for the Tigers, but I would hope that at this point in the season, they'll be ready to go on Saturday.  Should be interesting, to say the least.

Wow...I don't check for a few days and come back and its downright ugly in here.  Good to see Pat shares many of the thoughts about some and I repeat some of the Wabash posters on here...not all.

On a football note does anyone feel the Scots have an outside shot of a playoff bid if the can get by Wabash?  Even at 9-1 I think it will be tough considering the lack of stength in the conference.  But I am hoping they have an outside shot.

Lil' Giant-

This is a completely new mascot.  Woos old mascot was a scottie dog named mcwoo.  Its about time the old suit was retired.  Old McWoo was looking like he had mange!

Not sure if anyone has read this yet but thought it was a great piece.  Here is the link to the Wabash Football blog with the most recent entry from Coach Creighton talking about Geoff Walker...

http://www2.wabash.edu/blog/goodtogreat/

I had the pleasure of hosting Geoff last November (along with Billy King) at our family's Thanksgiving dinner (the team was on campus preparing for the Capital playoff game).  All of CC's comments on dead on.  No injury is a good injury but when it happens to a Senior in game 6 of their senior year...it is like a huge punch in the gut.

Okay, seriously, someone has to have a picture of this McWoo character. Pre or post-mange.

Tell you what, a Wooster fan posts a pic of McWoo and I'll show you what "mascot" Wabash had before our current Wally Wabash (not wally_wabash) mascot.

While McWoo might be getting the needle, Wooster's playoff hopes are very much alive.  At this point in the season, any team that ends 9-1 has a chance because we just don't know how many other 9-1 teams will be out there.  I don't want to speculate too much, but after a cursory glance, I think Wooster probably needs a little help as their QOWI isn't favorable relative to quite a few other pool C contenders.  The Scots still have tough games left against Gheny, Wabash, and Kenyon (yes, Kenyon) so 9-1 is anything but certain (although winning those games should boost Wooster's QOWI and make them more attractive to the selection committee).

When I read Observer's first post...I assumed it was a joke, then I read the second one.

Those kind of people just need to be ignored (like they were by all the girls in high school) and they will go away.  Odds are that he is some non-athletic dork who blames all his problems on the "jocks" that always picked on him.  Truth be told, I'm surprised he even reads a discussion board for the "terrible athletic display known as D3 football."  He's part of that group that thinks athletes have it easy and get all the breaks and nothing will change his mind.

Personally, I've done very well with my "sub-par" Wittenberg education.  If anyone thinks I would have done better with a Kenyon degree, they are sorely mistaken.  And for the record, I was accepted to Kenyon, but chose a more well-rounded educational experience, including football.  I guess that means I'm an idiot as well.  There sure are a lot of idiots in this world that are doing pretty well for themselves with their "junk" degrees.

Very well said Oldguy.
