Darkside...you making the trip???

Unfortunately, no.  I currently reside in North Carolina.  Too long of a trip, or rather, too much money for gas :(   It should be a good one though, I will definately be listening.

... the unveiling of the new mascot today.

Scotlass,

What is the mascots name.  I am dying to know!  Wooster hasn't posted anything on the web.

I would also like to note this is my 400th post.  Too bad it is on something so trivial as the mascot

I said this two years ago--Schafer has not looked the same to me since Carthage beat him to a pulp in that ridiculous playoff loss. He had a concussion early in that game but continued to play. I think it is more than just missing  Sutton. He simply is not the same quarterback.  Look at any numbers you wish.
But we won today and that is sweet.

When we get closer to the game I'll post the telecast parties that are in that area. At least go hang out and watch it on TV.

Quote from: smedindy on October 21, 2006, 07:40:39 PMWe know this much - the NCAC won't host a first round game. Other than that....it's a big ol' roulette wheel.

If the NCAC champ (whoever it is) makes any noise in the playoffs having a tight conference race like this would be good in the long run even if it sucks in the short.

I was dead serious. There are conferences where when they beat each other up it means it's a tough league. The SEC comes immediately to mind. I'd like to see the NCAC be that way.

I guess that means Kenyon is our Vanderbilt.

BB16 -

My concern was also shared by two others in our staff, who right now could run circles around you and make you look as silly as you think I am! It was serious frank discussion at the TGI Fridays on 38th Street.

But now...feh.

Bashbrother:

Excellent job on your playoff breakdown.

I do have one question:  You state that if Oberlin wins out they get the auto bid.
How is that?  If they win out against Witt and Kenyon and Wabash wins out doesn't that put Wabash in the playoffs.  Both teams would have one loss but we would have beaten Oberlin head to head.  Seems like that would be the best possible scenario.

If Wabash wins out we need Kenyon to lose and Witt to lose and if Oberlin does that for us we are in because we beat Oberlin head to head.

I see Witt's chance for a loss as being against Gheny and Kenyon's chance for a loss against Wooster but as we've seen so far anything can happen.

This all means nothing though if Wabash doesn't step up and finish out strong against Wooster and Denison and hope for help.

Fiji -

You are correct.   Oberlin would need Wabash to loose another game.

:)

They will loose it unless they tighten up.

It seems to me that . . . the Woostenberg Yeoman Lord Giants will probably get a first round matchup at Capital or Mount Union.  If the tiebreakers can't be figured out by then, perhaps we send an NCAC All Star team.  :)

NCAC looking a lot like the MIAA usually does this time of year.

Wooster has an outside chance of hosting a game in the playoffs if they go 9-1, but Mt. St. Joseph would probably have to lose to Defiance for that to happen.
Long shall we sing thy praises, Old Wabash

Guys, I've just got to say this.  The word is "lose", not "loose".  You "lose" football games; you turn animals "loose".  Sorry, but seeing this word continually mispelled on the internet is grating to me.  Beat the heck out of my karma if you must, but if you do I'll be "losing" points not "loosing" them. :)

And in case anybody wants to says this, "Hey noone is going to come on this forum and tell me how to spell," that's not a single word it's two.  "No one". :)
