2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Thanks WC....

Bashdad.....are you going up for the Wheaton Scrimmage?

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

"To overcome the disappointment of not making it on third down." -- Washington State Coach Mike Leach

Bashbrother:
Yes, driving to Wheaton--will meet Dave who is coming in from Seattle.  Not sure whether I'm going alone yet, or not.
I haven't finalized plans yet.  Get a cheap flight to Chi-town--I'll pick you up!

According to Wooster's local paper, sophomore Amil Tinsley is leading the way so far to become the one to fill the huge shoes left by Mr. Sutton.  He isn't a shoe-in.  He has just performed the best through week one and will be playing with the 1st teamers to start the Black & Gold game tomorrow.  He is being followed closely by soph transfer De'Lano Boles (redshirted last year at Ferris St.), frosh Dustin Sheppard and senior Sean Anderson.  Looks like it could be shaping up to be running back by committee.

GO SCOTS!!!

scotty

scotsfan, going to watch the scrimmage tomorrow...cant replace Sutton but im impressed with the commitee, fresh legs, spread the wealth...i think Wooster will be fine esp with the incoming class...11/1 attracts good players...

Yes they are going to paint them pink just to make you feel at home.  By the way is Wabash going to import grubs again this year?

OK, it's time for the 2nd annual (imitation) of the Wooster website player profiles - which are very thorough and sweet by the way...

QB - Justin Shafer, "Possesses the talent, intelligence, and leadership skills to be one of the top signal callers in conference history, and in the nation," AND SHOULD BE BETTER THEN JOE MONTANA BY THE TIME HIS NFL CAREER ENDS (according to the coaching staff...should have a better year in '05 then Peyton Manning had last season!).  Compared to John Elway since his arrival on campus, he continues to amaze and has turned down several pro offers to come out RIGHT NOW for 7+ digit signing $$$.  Is such a stud, his play won't be effected by the All American Running Back Tony Sutton's departure.  Supposedly set to take over for Richie "I now work for Vidal Sassoon Hair Products" McNally with all the ladies on campus.

LB - Joe Blow, according to the coaching staff, this dude will rock the NCAC's world, despite being 155 pound linebacker, has cat-like quickness.  Got tougher this past off-season spending time on a crab boat in Alaska - featured on A&E's Deadliest Catch TV series.

DB - Chris Craig, according to the coaching staff (and his Dad and Grandfather) should be the first d-back drafted in the NFL next year and should go in the 1st round.  Definite All American candidate and is the best d-back in the eastern half of the United States.  Timed by the coaching staff at 4.12 in the 40 downhill and the wind to his back + he growled the whole way with a new tatoo of a bagpipe (on his neck).  Is so good, you wouldn't have thought he played last year vs. Witt nor Wabash when they lit the secondary up like a Christmas tree giving up 88 combined points!  Oh ya, also played with former Woo LB Tim Cline.  Cline roomed with Tony Sutton and was with him when he heard he was going to the Senior Bowl.  They then met Craig for pizza, and Seth Duerr showed up and they all talked in amazement about  how cool it would be if the Scots had a visitors side to their stadium.

OL - Jack Crusher, per the coaching staff, although this cat has never been higher then #3 on the depth charts, should emerge as one of the greatest O-linemen since NFL-Hall-of-Famer John Hannah (or Anthonly Munoz).  Despite being 5'6" (and 5th string) was a member of the unit that blocked for the #1 RB in D3 Tony Sutton - at least  he did in practice once.

krock,

I think you get funnier each time you do that?! ???

The Shafer comparisons never get tired!!!

Man, the '05 season hasn't even started and I already can't wait for Krock's lame imitation for the '06 Wooster player profiles!  After all, it will be the last chance you get to profile your favorite player!!!

GO SCOTS!!!

patsajak

All this new fangled technology and yet something is lacking on this state of the art website....ahh yes, talk of football.  What is the latest word from the camps around the NCAC...any surprises/injuries/stand out freshmen?  What is the outlook for the first games/scrimmages? etc. etc. ....i'll check back soon! ??? :P

krock

Before you Woo folks get all bent out of shape...2 things:

1)  Lighten up
2)  Take a look at the Scot profiles and see if you see any similarities.  Check it out... http://athletics.wooster.edu/fb/profiles.php

reality check

Krock

I read the real profiles.  The biggest similarity I found was that you and the Woo website both spelled Chris Craig's name right.  Other than that, not much similarity.  Did you get beat by Union Local in high school?
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)
OAC Runners-Up: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2004, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1982, 1941 (Stupid Mount Union!)
MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

oldguy

Actually, I saw a lot of similarities between krock's profiles and the actual profiles.

Both sets cracked me up.

BashDad

Krock:
I sent you a regular e-mail--hope to hear from you early in the week.  Oh, BTW, don't you feel bad, picking on those Woo boys like that?   :P

scotty

i for one enjoy the effort that goes into the Wooster profiles and obviously the Wabash boys, or is that men, enjoy them too...my question to Wabash is why dont you have them on your players...great recruiting tool and i feel you guys have time on your hands...
