Nike,

You said, "And I think Witt is still the team to beat this year. Even without their quarterback they have the most talent in the league."  And since we are all getting along (at least for the last couple of days) - what the h#$% are you basing that statement on???  That's a huge "slam" to other contenders in our conference (NOT just Wabash).  They have the most talent???  WHERE?  Please share for us?

If you were trying to bait us, it worked!

Duh BB16,

They have the best defensive unit in the conference.  Haven't you been paying attention at all this year?

Now, the NCAC has a very legit shot to win 7 of our 10 games this weekend

That didn't quite pan out like you had hoped Wally.  A couple teams played very well and a couple dropped the ball for sure.  4-6 was not the outcome I would have anticipated either.

WITT/UD

I read in the Dayton Daily News writeup that Tristan Murray ran for more yards (239) than any other opponent had run against the Flyers in the 28 years that they have been non-scholarship.  Also the article stated that Murray had to come out of the game  for a while in the second half because of a medical condition that causes him to "overheat".  He sat in the air-conditioned WITT bus to cool back off before returning for the end of the game.  Interesting stuff.

Let D-side stay in the dark with his Scot sword.  Were you in C'ville yesterday?  One game at a time.

Congrats on the win against Kzoo.  As predicted, although hope you all had an enjoyable day with the fantastic weather, tailgating at your Community Day.  Now, on to the challenge for Wabash in the next few games.

Thanks.  It was a great day, but hot--it'll be nice when those 72 degree daytime highs get here.  K-zoo has some nice talent but we just wore them down.  Both their QB and RB did a nice job in the first half, before their OL flagged.  They were simply out of gas and Kaselitz became pretty defenseless.  He took a couple of hits in the 3rd quarter that made me cringe.  Still, they were game and I was pleased to see the nice contingent of K-zoo fans that made the trip down.

From what I have read, Hope had pretty rough sledding at JCU.  Tough opener.  Hope things smooth out for you guys.
Best of luck as the conference season gets under way.  Was glad to see Adrian get another one, we'll soon see what stuff they are made of.  Was kind of surprised to see Olivet go down to Franklin.  Talk to you later.

Just noticed an interesting stat for Earlham.

They have scored 110 points and given up 110 points in two games.....

Good for Earlham!  Some excitement in Richmond.

In 2003 they scored 164 points the whole season

223 points all of last season.....

Interesting...I guess.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Too bad OWU couldn't pull out the victory.  It was nice to see Zach Dennis have a good day for teh Bishops.  What did he have? 8 catches, 138 yards 2 TDs.

I had the pleasure of coaching Zach in HS.  OWU fans I hope you enjoy him.

COW guys

I see Tony Sutton is coaching with the Scots this year.  Did he get any serious looks or go to any camps after his COW came to an end?  You staff seems to have a very home-grown feel which I like.  I even noticed one of our coaches from last year is now back at Wooster where he played his college ball (Duerr).

I'd have to say I am a bit relieved that the Tigers played better.  Especially the defense and the running game.  Looks like Fincham was able to get them ready and focused.  The real test to see how the team is will be this weekend at Alma.  Tough road game, but definitely winnable.

Go Tigers!

Here is my weekly thoughts, even though most probably won't care. I wanted so badly to go to Thiel but my brother came in from CA and we went to the OSU/Texas game instead. Both games were very disappointing when I know that both teams could have won. I won't get into the OSU problems and I can only comment briefly on the OWU game based on what I was told and read. The OWU offense evidently did their job, I'm telling ya, they were fun to watch against Franklin. I am however very disappointed in the defense. I really thought the defense would be OWU's strong point.  ??? I'm not giving up on them, I have faith they will get better. OWU will be ready for conference play and I still consider them a contender.

I will definitely be there for the Olivet game, very interesting that Franklin beat Olivet. I hope that the more experienced posters on here bare with me through my rookie year in DIII and appreciate that some comments may be made due to inexperience. GO BISHOPS!
