Let's remember the lessons of a year ago...having talent to replace the departed is great, but there is no substitute for experience.  We learned this the hard way last year as we watched Adi & The 10 Newbs struggle through their trial by fire for the first handful of weeks.  With a brand new right side of the line, don't be surprised to see Huff rolling left a lot in the first few weeks.  :)

I was at the United Center in Chicago this morning for a meeting and had a few minutes to kill...I was looking at the Bronze statue of Michael Jordan out front with every one of his records listed.............being old as dirt myself ...I have had the truly great pleasure of watching the "virtuoso" of athleticism during all his best years....

The caption under all his records was the following....

"At that moment I knew. Surely and clearly. That I was witnessing perfection. He stood before us. Suspended above the earth. Free from all it's laws like a work of art. And I knew. Just as surely and clearly. That life is not a work of art. And that the moment could not last."

The caption taken from a truly great Men's movie....really struck me as I love the movie..................

I thought about Wabash Football....this year....the timing of all things....my own son Andrew playing there....for CC & Company....Huff and Russell back....Adi back....

I am planning on being at the games this year....

I have had three sons all play football...2 at the collegiate level....been to over 300 games just watching and coaching them along the way and hundreds of practices....I am down to the final 2 seasons of my youngest with Andrew....I cannot miss ...these moments of his life....these moments of my life....

Is this REALLY what needs to be on this site?

You Go ... DadofBashWarrior

Andrew ... CC & Company ... Huff and Russell ... Adi

"Kick but" combination comes to my mind ... but "work of art" works OK for me.

And while we are at it ... DePauw to Hell We've Got the Bell

DBW:

That is great.  As you know, we only get one pass for all of this.  You'll have a lifetime of memories for all of them when your youngest is done.  I wish him and you all the best for those last two years.  Fantastic - thanks for sharing that with us.

First off ............ hello everyone. I am the new b.
I have enjoyed reading through all of your posts over the last few weeks and thought that I might as well get on board.

I will be quite interested in what is happening in the NCAC from now on. For I will be one of the fans that will be cheering for the Big Red. Looking forward to traveling and tailgating to all the NCAC schools and watching some good football.

I know that the Big Red had health issues last year and that they have made some good moves at being competitive in football over the past couple of years. But, what have all of you seen of the program over the last couple of years?  I am real impressed with Coach Fletcher and Denison University.

With that being said............... Go Big Red.

Welcome to the board. I think one of the great things on the board is fans from opposite sides meeting to tailgate before the game.

1iopen,

Dension is a gem waiting to be found football wise.  The place is as nice as can be and its facilties are second to none in the NCAC. ...This coming from a Wooster grad.  They also have some tradition there with Woody Hayes and Coach Piper.

I don't understand why they have had a hard time having an upper tier program in some of the major sports.  All the pieces seem to be in place there????

Somebody with knowledge shed some light.

I'm upstairs right now!  ;D

Actually, I've hit the interview circuit hot and heavy. Hopefully it will be resolved soon. Yes, it will be relocation, but it should be an excellent opportunity wherever it is. The only D-3 school doesn't have football, though. But in most places where I am interviewing, they have D-3 schools nearby.
