Witt returns another returning DL, not listed above, in Lance Phillips that earned All-NCAC recognition playing next to Davis.

Joe Swanson will also be ' 06 All-NCAC returner for Witt at LB.

BashBro,

Andy Deig (Wabash ILB) will have a heck of a year opposite Adi.  He'll be reporting about 20 pounds less then last year and should be flying all over the field.  Chad Peterman should also have a strong year at FS for Wabash.

Tough call though this early.

My brain got tired last night and I am sure I am off on a few....

Losing Schafer will be tough for Wooster.  It's always tough to lose a four-year starter at any position, especially the quarterback position.

Schafer was a pretty good quarterback who unfortunately got saddled with a lot of injury problems.  He missed the '06 game vs. Wabash because of injury.  I'll always remember the '05 game vs. Wabash.  Wabash threw an absolute whitewash on Wooster that day, but Schafer played one heck of a game despite the score and despite only being able to use one leg.  It really was one of the gutsier games from a QB that I've seen.  He didn't live up to the hype (who could have?), but he should be proud of his career.

The new qb for Wooster...I think he's going to have a tough year.  Tony Sutton ain't walking through that door.  Rick Drushal ain't walking through that door.  If Wooster is going to have success, they'll need good play from the quarterback and that is a tall, tall order from somebody who is totally green.

Plus the key losses on defense will only put more pressure on the offense to put some points on the board.

Wooster has a great tradition and I am sure they will fill the gaps with quality.   Anytime a team loses that much experience, it takes a few games to get their feet.    The first three games this year may be a bit tougher.

Wooster will be fine.

The only thing I'm worried about is depth at the QB position. It's been a long time since the Little Giants have had to deal with an injury at QB, but if (heaven forfend) Huff gets hurt there may be some issues.

Smed,

It is my understanding that Kyle Augustinovicz is pretty good.  He needs to learn the offense, but with a year behind Huff he should do just that.  God forbid something happen to Huff, if it does.  It's my understanding we should be ok.  Let's hope we don't have to find out, and Kyle will have his year to develope.  Hope everything is going good for you Smeds.  As always.

Wabash has been extraordinarily lucky in this regard.  The last serious injury to a qb that I can remember would have been Weinraub's knee during the '97 Homecoming game vs. RHIT.  After that, nothing...I think Harbaugh got knocked out of a few plays in the '03 Bell game (giving fellow 2005 Gagliardi finalist Mitch Tanney a handful of snaps).  Other than that I can't think of a time when a Wabash quarterback missed time due to injury in the last 10 seasons.

Wabash's equipment guy might need that first year just to sew on his nameplate.

But Capital gets the "Best Name for A New QB Award" this year.

Little Giants report to camp today.  I believe they are expecting just over 130 players.

Any early reports on other NCAC teams' camps?
