It may be a little early in the week for this, but since I just did my picks it's on my mind...

GOOD LUCK TO Allegheny, Denison, Earlham, Kenyon, Oberlin, OWU, Wittenberg, and Wooster THIS WEEK!! Represent the NCAC well!

I would love to come out of this week well over .500. Winning non-conference games is the best thing that can happen for our conference.

It puzzles me that with the large fan base, the tradition and history of winning etc. that there is not more Tiger participation out here.

They've shown themselves to be fairly scarce on the hoops board as well. Even during their Final Four year.

I find it quite odd.

I hope the conference can get off to a better start as well.  Last year the NCAC had a 3-6 first week.  Seven of those nine games were on the road.  This year the conference will play eight games in week 1, but seven of those eight are at home this time around.

I think Denison, Kenyon, Oberlin, and Allegheny are all playing very winnable games on their home turf.  OWU has a tough test against Franklin, but OWU typically plays well at home (see vs. Witt in 2006) so anything can happen there.  Witt also gets Capital at home and I don't think anybody is really sure what exactly to expect from Capital after their pretty severe losses to graduation.  I think four wins is very possible on Saturday, as many as six if the stars align properly.

Any Wittenberg posters been around lately?

It puzzles me that with the large fan base, the tradition and history of winning etc. that there is not more Tiger participation out here.

Would love to hear how camp is going for Witt, how the QB spot is coming along?  who has established themselves in the backfield other than Vanover?   How the secondary is coming along? and how they feel heading in to the Capital match-up?   Any info would be great.

I wish I could give more info, but having graduated and moved to the Philadelphia area, I fear I have become more of a fan from afar than anyone with any remote inside information.

At the risk of causing additional angst to Miss Scottlass and Medicine person ... there is a good article about the Wabash senior leadership:

http://www.journalreview.com/articles/2007/08/27/sports/02wabash.txt

It says a lot about the Creighton era footprint, the kind of guys who make Little Giants, and why the team ... indeed every Wabash team ... never quits and Always Fights.

There may be similar experiences elsewhere ... but from my prejudicial perch ... I believe the Little Giants ARE special.

Nice article....:)  Angst only occurs when ALL fans can't feel welcome to post without being ridiculed.

Wrath occurs when posters have no concern about how their posts might be hurtful to a player or even a parent of a player. I may think a lot of things that I would NEVER post.

D3 players have my utmost respect regardless of team. 99.9% of them are sweating during camp and daily practices to play the last 40 games of their life for nothing more than the love of the game. A lot of the guys making the big bucks and playing on Sunday could learn something valuable from the guys representing ALL the D3 teams this Saturday.

Hell no, I don't don't mind! At least I'm not getting confused for an OWU fan like on the hoops board. ;)

That summary has one giant mistake, saying Brandon French is back this year. Wooster could only be so lucky to have him this year.

Anyone in Allegheny land know who their starting QB is going to be? I think there was even a chance a freshman might start.

Yikes! I didn't even notice that!

As far as the Gators.....as of their scrimmage against Thiel, they didn't know.

Gheny losing Savage just slipped my mind. He was a heck of a player.

Savage was quality and almost gave me multiple heart attacks with his second half comeback efforts

Predictions anyone?

Biggest Impact Freshman?

Biggest Upset?

Biggest Non-Conference win for a NCAC squad?
