It is more than student apathy. there is a general dislike (to say the least) for football among alums, students and staff/faculty. Players are mocked and the sport is seen as producing violent dumb jocks dragging the campus down. Until that attitude changes... they won't get all the recruits they need. The street runs both ways. Even if they went to the playoffs, there would still be a general resentment for football in general on that campus. True story.. but sad.

They could use some attractive woman. I guarantee the 'Bash team in drag would be better than most Kenyon girls... also true.

What sold me on CMS. girls out "studying" in almost nothing in the middle of the winter. Go skiing and to the beach in the same day? Return for a jello wrestling tournament with many a fine lady? No contest.

Shirt of the year at Scripps (the S in CMS). "Boys don't go here, they just come here"

WTF is wrong with Oberlin?  Losing to Heidelberg?  Was anyone on this list at the game?

Any updates on Huff?  Rumors spreading to the south that it's serious.

This is unfortunate -- it's similar to the atmosphere described at Swarthmore shortly before they pulled the plug on their program.

That's been the reported attitude at Oberlin and Kenyon for years, though. No chance they drop football.

Considering that his previous injury was ankle related, and the sheer pain that I saw in that grimace today, I'd not really doubt that it's pretty bad.

Here's hoping for the best, and we're thinkin' about you No. 4.

As a Scots fan at today's game I was taken aback by the team's continuing lack of basic football fundamentals. This is the forth game counting the scrimmages, What have the coaches been teaching at practice? Most troubling was the 10minute+ wait for an ambulance to take the injured Scot off the field. Nothing was more painful then to watch his Mother on the field with him looking more and more anguished as each minute passed while they waited for the rescue Squad. Has the athletic dept. at Wooster fallen on such hard times that it can't afford to have a rescue squad on site? I can understand canceling JV games last year due to budget cuts, not feeding the players after away games, but come on this is a player safety issue!! I'm sure the long wait and the loud sarcastic cheer when the squad finally arrived left a GREAT impression on any recruits and their parents visiting today's game. It leaves one wondering if the graduated Class of 2006 Scots football team achieved all that they did INSPITE of an apathetic athletic dept. and the Wooster coaching staff.....

That is troubling - I don't make many road games, but since I've generally seen an ambulance at the games I've attended (mostly C'ville and Greencastle), I figured having an ambulance on site was S.O.P.  Obviously not.

Well, we made the front page - heck of a way to accomplish that feat.  Fellow Wallies, I'm still in disbelief over what transpired today.  I mean it's not like the guy hasn't had health issues in the past.  Who in their right minds would think that was a good idea?  I'm just an old baseball player and I know better.

EastCoastStag,
I see that you've been to Wabash at homecoming and have seen the homecoming queen contest...a sight you'll never forget.

Very interesting that CC mentioned almost nothing of #4's injury in the review linked to the home page... either a "no comment until we know for sure" or avoiding controversy for a bone-headed move?
