Have lost my preseason optimism for the Scots.  Thought for sure the running game was a given. Maybe I could have run behind Drushal and rushed for 1000 yards.
Think OWU and Wabash is the game of the week in the NCAC.
IMO OWU needs to get the ball to their tight ends and receivers more. I know Raeford(sic) is back and is very good and I have seen him get open and catch tough throws last two years.  For the longest time seems like every game the leading receiver is a running back and the leading rusher is the quarterback for OWU, although I have not looked at the stats this year. Do they still run a wing-t?  That was supposed to be scrapped this year. Is that little scatback from a couple years ago still on the team?
Will Hymes be back this year, anyone from OWU country? Is he able to come back next year?

nike...The Wabash-Ohio Wesleyan game is THE NCAC Game of the Week. This game is more than what the Media & Coaches picked in pre-season (Bash #1-OWU #5), this will show where both programs are right now. Is Wabash the real Street & Smith's #7 team in D3 & is OWU a NCAC contender. I believe the Wing is back....but, there must be some variations. Lots of rumors about the offense....the test will be Saturday. Stats show the QB is still the lead rusher but Dennis (SE) & Raeford (TE) are getting the grabs....Men of Wabsh, Nathan Osborn (SE) was Sprinter of the Year at Outdoor Track & Field Championships...Fear the Speed....Scatback? Rice maybe? Graduated. Hymes was said to be out for 2-6 weeks....he's a Sr...look for him at anytime...the Bishops need him. Four days of practice and  a wake-up.....This game has implications....GO BISHOPS

I could look it up, but, I don't think OWU has ever beaten Wabash.

1989 - OWU 20, Wabash 8

Two words - Keith Rucker.

I only looked it up because I was at the game.

I think you've got some bad intel, aueagle. 2006 Sprinter of the Year was Bart Banach, WR Wabash College.

For good measure, the 2005 Sprinter of the Year was Michael Russell, WR Wabash College.

I think there's a consensus that S&S's rankings are (as my grandaddy would say) 'bout as worthless as tits on a bull. We're not thinking about those and those won't be the reason why Wabash wins on Saturday.

fyi... update on Wheaton QB, Zach Ullrich, over on the CCIW board.  Pretty much what I was hearing 3rd hand, but I didn't want to post 3rd hand information on something so sensitive.

Sounds like he is doing better, but is still "not out of the woods".  It was quite grave at first... very scary.

I think the poll on this here site is the one to watch, and I believe Wabash is fairly and justly ranked right now. But they need to buckle up the chinstraps, because the Bishops won't just roll over.

You guys hear about the mistake on the game stats last Saturday at Millikin?  Wally - I figured you would be all over that?  Not sure what or why but some numbers have been changed.  One number changed was Pynenburg's tackles...he actually had 16!  On track to break #45 Jim "Killer" Kilbane's Wabash career mark of 400 hits.  That is huge if he pulls that off!

Total coincidence but my son and I were messing around on the game field Sunday at Hollett - throwing, etc...and Wabash Frosh kicker Spencer Whitehead was getting some kicks in.  That dude can BOOM, what a leg.  He was 1st team 5A All State out of Bloomington South.  He hit one from 50 that had room.  I think he is going to be a great one when he gets his shot.

WabashCPA - thanks for "rubbing salt in the wound" referencing the '89 OWU game.  Rucker was a load for sure.  We did blast them the year before in Selby which was a nice win.

wally...Osborn was sprinter/hurdler of the year....it is listed in the football & track & field overviews for OWU...Bad intel...maybe I'll call the OWU SID.....it pays to know someone at the IRS.....cpa: I forgot about the '89 game...kinda like I will  never look at the score of the 1986 game...by the way:after OWU beat Bash in '89, Bishops beat DePauw in '90...Bishops Sweep Indiana....in 4 days...it will be the 2nd quarter. GO BISHOPS

BB16 - For some screwy reason the Millikin stats crew had TEAM with a bundle of tackles. I'm sure Brent took care of that for them.

Stop...we're both right.  "Last year's" sprinter of the year, being the spring 2007 meet (when I think "last year" I think 2006...I guess I've been out of school long enough now that I don't operate on the academic calendar), was in fact Osborn.  2006 and 2005 were Banach and Russell, respectively.  I was going to look at the results from the 2007 meet which was hosted by OWU, but the link from the NCAC page to OWU's results page is a dead link.  Worst.  Website.  Ever.

Maybe we should forget the game and just hold a series of 4x100m races to determine Saturday's winner?  :)

wally....Worst...Website...Ever...Ooouuch! You would be calling medics for me at 50 yds!
Five (5) Ohio schools in the Top 25...Capital has stormed...when they did the stadium make-over a few years back, the stated their mission...and it was clear. Seeing BW back there is like their old days..ONU has not been hurt at all from the coaching problems they had a few years ago..and where did Mount St. Joseph's come from. The boys from Cincy might steal Witt & Dayton recruits. Congrats to Wabash on #20...The NCAC needs 2-3 teams in the Top..we have beaten that one before....

Just because MSJ is in the AFCA poll doesn't mean they're that good, aueagle.

aueagle, unless Osborn is a greatly improved football player from his high school days I doubt that the Little Giants have much to worry about.  I watch him then and was not that impressed.
