Wally,
Thank you. I went back and looked and saw that Hollway has "only" been at OWU 21 years, not 25. So yes, that is a long time to coach and have 1/2 a title. But if he gets them all graduated, then does it matter as much?
So is it great players make great coaches, or great coaches coach teams to greatness.?
How Wabash finishes the year may very well answer that question, because although Huff was not the whole team, Wabash has lost a great player. Hopefully CC will still keep the victories coming.  Ooops! Go Scots. I may change my loyalties after Saturday. I'll be OK by the time the Bishops come to town for Homecoming. It may be the "Battle of the Beatens."

Smeds - Thanks for that link.  That made my day.   Anyone who listens to it, needs to get through the first part, because it gets really good in the middle.  The guy totally loses it.

I know that I, as I am sure a lot of us, have felt like this guy at some time in the past.

Good stuff.
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Wow.

It's one thing to be a little upset that "your" team played poorly.......this guy is over the top. I'd recommend a trip straight to his nearest mental health professional.....he's just plain scary.

What makes the laugh the most about that rant is he sounds like he's about 60 years old and has been smoking 4 packs a day since he was 8. This dude is in his 20s! Which partially explains the petulance of his rant. But his voice sounds like Tom Waits and Tony Soprano had a love-child.

nike: To weight the D3 programs, and really the programs such as the NCAC, NESCAC, UAA...and mention graduation rates is something I am not use to hearing at the 3 level. That, 1) these student-athletes are accepted at these schools says major things right there, and, 2) the way the by-laws are set by the NCAC specifically and each school, is there really an over-bearing emphasis on athletics. Maybe this is an off-season topic, but I thought I would address it. The topic at hand is....The Game Saturday.....

Smeds...What a great link...peeking over the edge of sanity isn't a pretty picture...but it sure is funny. What I really liked was the guy in the background trying not to laugh too loud. And the puckering sounds...priceless. Thanks.
aueagle...you're right...the task at hand is the game...will you be there on Saturday? Looking forward to a good game...and an LG victory.

Surprised no one has posted this as yet, but since in doesn't involve Wabash....

Trivia question during the OSU-UWash game:

What was the last Ohio team to defeat Ohio State?

a) College of Wooster
b) Oberlin
c) Case Western [sic]-of course that configuration has never played OSU.  Would either Case or Western Reserve qualify?
d) Denison

Yes. "B".

But I guess since it was Wabash guys that answered the result was somehow invalid.

No, but it further documentation Wabash's domination of the board.  But that is more an indictment of the other programs' fans than a criticism of Wabash fans.

Had a friend of a friend tell me at a social event that OWU actually beat OSU back in the late 1800's I believe.  And that Selby field is modeled after the horseshoe.
Have been given permission to take in the Wabash game, but it must include a trip to Easton Mall.
Watched the Scots practice this week. Heard several players grumbling. The troops are not happy. But they are primed for this weekend. Practices were very, very physical.  And a lot of, shall we say, verbal instuction.
Go Scots! It would be a sweet victory.

To be fair, Wabash/OWU is the conference lid-lifter this year and while there are six other non-con games happening, I think most of us would like to lock the 2007 NCAC non-conference portion of the season in a box, shoot it into outer space, and forget that it ever happened.

In 1890 OSUand OWU met in the first "official" game for each, OSU won.  Site was not far frm Selby's site, per article this week in the Dispatch.  OWU tied OSU n 1895 and won in 1896 and 1897.  Only non-losses v OSU.  Per OWU media guide.

OWU was the opponent at the dedication game of Ohio Stadium.

BTW Polaris Mall is closer to Delaware than Easton.  Better food at Easton though.

One Day and a Wake-Up....I feel the "Perfect Storm" in Delaware....The history of Selby....the past ghosts of Battling Bishops....perfect weather....2 full weeks of preparation...a ranked Wabash squad....the NCAC Championship STARTS in Delaware.....Bishops shock the conference and their pre-season rank of No 5.....
OWU - 23      Wabash - 17

wabco

Alternate pefect storm.   The past ghosts of the Battling Bishops (essentially 0 for the world against the NCAC Little Giants) ... perfect weather (Wabash QB with a game under his belt and the best receiving corps in Div III and an expanded pass playbook and good weather) ... 2 full weeks of preparation (same-o  same-o) ... a ranked Wabash squad (same-o  same-o) ... the NCAC Championship STARTS in Delaware (same-o  same-o plus CC knows and has communicated this to the Little Giants) ... Bishops shock the conference (no chance) ... ALTERNATE:  Wabash D stuffs the Bishops run and there is essentially no valid pass game ... Wabash O line does its job ... Sobecki gets on stride along with Graham continuing his tear ... Augi discovers the fleet receivers long as well as short .... Wabash special teams are "there"  plus someone has taught how to kick field goals .... GAME OVER ... GAME OVER
