W&J QB is 30-33 for 386 yards....not a bad day

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

I'm not saying it was your fault.  I also didn't know you needed them to report to you guys.  I had no idea how you guys do your updates.  I knew the game was over though and it hadn't updated in quite a while whether it was on your end or theirs.

(Besides, I could have updated it for you if you wished...I'm good for it ya know  ;))

OWU defense comes through and the offense played good enough to win.

It did my heart good to see an Ohio team beat a Michigan team. What was ironic though is that Olivet was from Michigan but was red and white with a white O on their helmets. If I didn't know better I would have thought they were from Ohio.  ;D

What is with the OWU pep band playing while OWU has the ball? Oh well, it must work, OWU is 2-0 at home. Bring on Wabash in 2 weeks. A good time for a bye week, 2 weeks to prepare for Wabash. Looking forward to seeing some of you Wabash posters in Delaware in 2 weeks.  Did I happen to mention that in 2 weeks OWU and Wabash will be gettin it on! Go Bishops! 8)

Wow, I would like to retract my statements a few weeks ago when I said the factory that was mount Union.   Impressive.

Also, maybe I'm just being a jerk.  But I thought this lil blurb from Kenyon's web site was kinda interesting.

"GAMBIER, Ohio (September 17, 2005)– The Case Western Reserve Spartans did something Saturday that not many teams have been able to do over the last couple of football seasons. The Spartans shut down the Kenyon College offense and put a damper on the Lords' homecoming festivities with a 19-8 victory."

Sorry, I couldn't resist sharing.  Sorry if I have insulted the powerhouse that is Kenyon.

Well Wally, I'll give you your due.  The gators technically beat the spread, but barely.  Just got back from the game.  Offense really didn't look bad despite missing Tarquinio again (rumor is he'll back for Wooster in two weeks).  They led 7-6 and 14-7 before the things fell apart for them. Biggest problem for the Gators tonight was a non-existent pass rush.  W&J's quarterback will be a serious All-American contender as his throws are very strong and accurate.  You give this kid time and he will pick you apart and that's exactly what happened tonight.  Newspaper said four defensive starters were missing this week and I'd like to think that had something to do with it, but I don't know how much.  Didn't seem like the Gators were willing to blitz much tonight and I don't know why given the above description of W&J's quarterback.  Haven't seen the stat line, but the pass def. is going to look very, very ugly.  On the bright side, the Gators moved the ball pretty consistently playing two quarterbacks (Savage and James Jones) and pretty much shut down W&J's running game (of course they didn't need it).  Overall, the result is obviously disappointing and I hope the defensive woes are not a sign of things to come, but they never packed it in and stayed competitive throughout, even if the score got a little lopsided toward the end.  They just have to put this one behind them and put everything together in two weeks when the COW comes to town.

Did anyone think they would ever live to see the day when AC and Witt both started 0-3 in the same season?  Yikes.

To the Scot faithful:

If Mirando, Brew, and Zagorski are healthly, it will be a better game than the last two.

Wally -

Your spreads were great.  Gheny, Kenyon, Hiram & Wabash games were very close.

Maybe you guys can help me out.  I can't find the Pick-ems.  I know pat said they were moved to the General Football section, but I dont see it in there.  Does it still need to be set up for our conference?  Or am I just missing the boat?

DSD --
You can only see the Pick-Ems if you're logged in to Post Patterns. The casual troller can't see them.

They're listed as a "Child Board" under the General Football category.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Thanks WC

Are there any Kenyon followers out there that can tell me why Kenyon was playing Case as their Homecoming??  Or was that a misprint , among other things, on the part of their website?

ADL70

Their only October home games are with gheny and OWU.   Who would you pick?

The NCAC better hope someone other than Witt wins the conference's AQ this year, or this conference is going to start looking like the IBC.
