That having been said, his ball to Vanover was the best pass thrown by either qb (or rb) all day.
With all due respect to Huffman and his last toss--which was stellar--the post Hudson hit for Bash's first score goes up there as one of the best thrown deep balls at a post-Knott Wabash. Catch wasn't half-bad either.

Oh my....high praise indeed.  I'll defer to your judgement on this one.   :)

A question to the Wabash guys who saw the Franklin game...and have seen the LG's in their last two games...how does the offense compare from the Franklin game with Huff as QB with the current offense with Hudson running the show. The first game I saw was the OWU game...and I've seen a lot of improvement in the D...and improvement in the O line and in Hudson. But where would you guys say the O is in comparing it the Franklin game?

Wally - Didn't mean you wouldn't want a rubber game.  Just not in the first round.

First round, second round....whenever.  It's a fun game and in the playoffs it doesn't much matter when you play somebody.  You still have to beat them all to win the whole thing.   :)

WAF78,

Interesting question on the Bash O now vs. the Bash O in week 1.  There has been a lot of football played since then and I think Bash is much better in several areas.  The O line has made progress and the lineup seems as settled as its been with Hilts, Shaver, Neimeyer, Tokar, and Morris.  Russell is nearly 100% which is fantastic news and makes a huge impact as for weapons.  Sobecki is running better, CP could have some huge games coming up and has continued to emerge.  His yards per carry is impressive at over 6.3.  Week 1 is so tough because its so early in the season and the fact FC had a game under their belts - made it very tough.  Now, just think if Huff is at the controls...hmmm.  I have no idea but that is a great thought.  No slight on Hudson, he has made massive strides the last 2 weeks and is playing very solid football.  His height is a big advantage and I love his deep ball.

Franklin has been very lucky thus far with injuries...can you imagine that team if they were to lose Rupp or Hartsfield on the O side...or Pickrell on the D side.    Personally, I wouldn't want to face them again but if we did, I like our chances for the reasons above.

So:

Anyone want to stab at the NCAC offensive POY? Six games in and I'd be hard pressed to come up with solid front-runners, let alone a winner.

no?

short

The Front runner is Rafael Sanchez!!! This kid is a stud! 3rd in the NCAC in Rushing, 4th in Passing, and 1st in TOTAL OFFENSE with 1580 yds.

How about the all NCAC team:
Here are the Front runners at each Position after 6 games

QB- Sanchez (Ken)
RB- RV (Obe)
RB- Ardolaez (Ken)
WR- Schubert (Obe)
WR- Shoemaker (Ken)
TE- Raeford (OWU)
C- Sommers (Cow)
OL- Hernandez (EC)
OL- Miller (Obe)
OL- Hilts (Wab)
OL- Edwards (Ken)

on Def the front runners are

DL- Prisani (Obe)
DL- Kennon (Wab)
DL- Lange (Wab)
DL- Macik (All)
OLB- Swanson (Witt)
OLB- Schermbeck (Cow)
IB- Pynenberg (Wabash)
IB- Villa (All)
DB- Palmer (Obe)
DB- Anderson (All)
DB- Rooms (Wab)
DB- Giffert (COW)

I don't think #40 would get on the D3Football or NCAC team of the week if he had 40 tackles (25 solo), 2 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles in a week.

Strange.  Doesn't matter and I know he could care less, but it is strange all the same.

Don't worry about Adi, bashbro.  He'll be 1st team on every reputable publication when those particular awards are handed out.  The NCAC PotW awards...they serve a different purpose entirely and you shouldn't worry much about them.

As for who is going to get the Gregory Award....total toss up.  Probably Sanchez.  If Carroll can have a good game at Wabash and then outplay Sanchez when they play Kenyon later this year, it might go to him.  Hudson still has three NCAC games left and if the award looks primarily at NCAC games (I don't know if this is the case or not) he could be in the mix if he goes big the next few weeks.

Brock "Money" Graham has to be there somewhere...whether it be WR or RB or utility????  Would be surprised if Russell is not on there either...esp with a strong finish which I anticipate.  I am very interested to see how RV runs against this Bash D.  It may be a long day for him.

Bad news for Witt losing ILB Swanson for the year with torn knee ligaments (Springfield paper).  Another Senior too - hate that for any team.

Anyone read the SI article on the kid from Chadron State - the RB (Danny Woodhead).  Pretty cool...5'7 200 and runs a 4.3 with a 33" vertical.  Over 7,500 career rushing yards with more to play!!!  Hope he has a shot to play on Sundays.

BashDad - that's all I have for now...thats as close to the source as you can get...  Can you imagine?

A note on Swanson.  Springfield News-Sun article today said that Swanson was out for the rest of the season with a torn up knee.  Apparently in the 4th quarter of last week's game.

Ouch.  That's a big blow to the Witt D.

As for the Team of the Week, that's a tough call Pat and his crew have to make. Adi only had two TFL against Witt. Plus at some places (not Wabash) tackle numbers can be inflated a bit.

I have no fear that Adi will be on the All-American list here and a first team all-everything here at d3football.com

Good news, the new SOS measurements are out:

Bad news: Wabash now has the creampuffs before DPU:

Oberlin - 174th on opponents WP.
Wooster - 2-4 in region.
Denison - 0-5 in region.

Their OWP will sink.
