Maybe they're not a 1st team pick...but look-out for Chad Ellis (Sr) & Tommy Saunders (Jr)...LB's for Bishops....look for a 2nd team or H. Mention. Saunders has 22 solo's/41 assit...Ellis:23 & 35...On the flip-side Witt LB Swanson has (had) 16 solo's & 36 asst.  I know...big difference from ILB & OLB...but still the numbers are solid for OWU. The problem is Bishop "D" has given up 119 points & 3.8 yds per rush!! Thanks for putting Terrrance Raeford up at TE. At 6'2'' 230lbs he is a target and has grabbed 18 ball so far. GO BISHOPS

Good news, the new SOS measurements are out:

http://www.d3football.com/notables/2007/10/18/Strength+of+schedule

Bad news: Wabash now has the creampuffs before DPU:

Oberlin - 174th on opponents WP.
Wooster - 2-4 in region.
Denison - 0-5 in region.

Their OWP will sink.

That's going to be a fun table to sift through.

Wabash's OWP will fall over the next few weeks, but there isn't anything Wabash can do about how good the NCAC teams on their schedule are.  The games Wabash does have control over will help (unless DPU goes in the tank over the next few weeks).

Did I read here or elsewhere that Wabash's Sobecki only had two fingers and a thumb on his throwing hand?  Seems like I saw this just recently.

That was trollspeak...looks like it has since been deleted.

I don't think #40 would get on the D3Football or NCAC team of the week if he had 40 tackles (25 solo), 2 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles in a week.

Strange.  Doesn't matter and I know he could care less, but it is strange all the same.

There are lots and lots and lots of linebackers in the world and we sure get every single one nominated. We also get lots of quarterbacks and lots of running backs.

In looking at the TOW, I might not have taken the Mass-Dartmouth guy, but I can't find fault with anyone else. Tom Brew didn't make it either and he had 21 tackles and made Statistical Spotlight. A Dubuque player had two picks and returned one for a touchdown and HE didn't make the team.

Bashbrother, you seem to have a lot of complaints about the site. What did we do to piss you off again? I don't get it.

Plus at some places (not Wabash) tackle numbers can be inflated a bit.

And to that end, we heavily discount assisted tackles.

Do you discount home team ATs more than visiting team's?

I don't deal with the Team of the Week personally, just the season-long awards -- they tend to balance out over the long haul.

Pat - I don't think a lot is that accurate.

But I probably did get a little too excited about this issue.  My frustration was more towards the NCAC.  But as others have said, it's a whole different ball game and then I sat back and thought about it, #40 has been good for four years and results are somewhat expected of him.

I'll try and control my edge  ;)

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Didn't mean that as a gripe on the TOW selection.  Just curious generally.  Plural "you" was intended in response to "we."  Presuming you didn't mean the imperial we.  Not sure if you know the DI answer, but at that level do they have an "official" scorer not associatead with either team.  If I recall correctly even in MLB the official scorer is usually from the local press corps.

One of the biggest Wins in the CC era!  After all that has happened to this team this year.

CC is the man!

The Checkered endzone must stay!!!!

Battling in Springfield:
Tigers hold 41-35-6 advantage all-time
Tigers hold 13-2 record vs Bishops since 1992
I think we caught Witt by surprise last year and it was at Selby
If OWU can keep it close by the 3rd QT - we have a good chance
Bishops have it in them to pull this upset...even at 17.5 in Vegas!

Did any other Bash guys see the lame ticket allotment from DePauw this year...freaking amazing...2,700 is all we get.  Once they are gone, that's it.  Lame city!  What a joke!  Incredible that when the game is at Wabash, we go for around 12,000 total and they shoot for around 8,500.

Regarding Oberlin/Wabash matchup, I didn't realize Mangan threw for 342 last year...yikes!  I hope the Hard Hat D brings the heat in a major way!  I'd like to see Kraft and Wood blitz more from the outside.

Wabash Always Fights!
