So are we tailgating or what?

The twins are coming. Half of us ain't never been able to enjoy such a thing.

Call me..... the wife has vetoed the bill that would have allowed me to fly this weekend.  I am lobbying as we speak.... Bought her a new car today.  I am also considering a Coup d'état.  ;D

I especially like the presidential suite/skybox at the Case stadium.

http://www.case.edu/athletics/varsity/Facilities/north_side.htm

I always thought someone might build something similar at LG stadium (a new pressbox would be a welcome addition, too).  I figured if you could erect a skybox outside the physcial boundaries of the stadium and legally serve liquor - it would pay for itself in one bell game.

I'm officially jealous after looking at the baseball stadium, complete with press box.

After looking at the football field, I can understand why they didn't put bleachers on the "visitors" side, considering how the buildings frame 3/4 of the field, which is pretty cool.  Definitely unusual, but understandable.  I like how the buildings are in the background of the baseball field as well.

Reminds me of the St. Andrews Old course for the British Open.  Very cool.

hot stuff

like i said on the uaa board, unless the whole city of cleveland some how finally realizes case even has a football team, being able to see the game will be easy, there were almost 1000 seat wide open in the first round, and you can watch all the way around the field w/o buying a ticket, or u could find a kid that will let u watch the game from their dorm in a warm room, and probably have a better view of the action ;D

ScotLass

I don't know a thing about tickets and how many they will sell, but there is plenty of room around the field for standing room. While all the seating is on one side, the seating area provides a great view of the field. The parking garage is attached so not much walking to get there. I don't know where any tailgating would be as there is not much area there for street parking, it's in a very built up area.

As far as the matchup, I live by the motto of....never, never, never under estimate your opponent. Am sure neither of these teams will. Should be a great game.

hotstuff, do you know whether or not CWRU caps their ticket sales?  I just don't want to run into the situation where I get turned away at the door and then have to bribe some kid with a case of beer to find a place to watch.   :)

I don't know how many Wabash fans will make this trip.  We may descend on Cleveland like those gnats during the ALCS, or the holiday weekend could keep the Wabash crowd limited.  There will defintely be enough of us there that you'll notice us...to what extent, I'm not really sure just yet.

What?!?  No stadium lot?  This deal gets worse all the time....

I think it would have been easier to under estimate CWRU last week.  But, CWRU now has a win over a playoff team and it wasn't over a team that got in by winning a bad conference or anything like that.  They beat a team that the selection committee decided belonged in the championship tournament...that's a legitimate win...Wabash won't take this team lightly for sure.

wally et al,

the athletic dept phone # is 216-368-2420 or 216-368-2867. Am sure they could give you a definitive answer about ticket sales if you call tomorrow :)

Bro,

C'mon. You bought a car today? She's gotta let you. Say we're growing apart...

Barry's planning on bleaching a W into the field. You can't miss out.

Tailgating, dammit! 16, make it happen!

Silly man....a car is nice, BUT diamonds are a girl's best friend ;)

Case has probably never even thought about the possibility of capping ticket sales, u guys still have to remember the average kid that goes there knows nothing but his physics book, and could care less for football, but as for tailgating....there are grills already set up in two corners of the field opposite the stands next to the dorms, and you can always go on the roof of the parking garage, which is also open if u want to watch the game from up there

wally_wabash

Oooh...I like the idea of a rooftop tailgate.  This might be the play.  You're getting karma hotstuff.   :)

Saturday
Mostly cloudy. Highs in the upper 30s.

Top of the garage might be just right....Football weather for sure.  Might even be some snow left over from Thurs. & Friday.

NCAA PLAYOFF CHAMPIONSHIP HANDBOOK says:

They must provide 500 tickets to us between the 30 yard lines....

I would assume if there are no visitor stands that means they have to reserve an area of seating for us...

WABASH ALWAYS FIGHTS
Exept....in the stands for the fans

ADL70

There is a designated visitor's section, not sure it's all with the 30s though .  Probably only seats about 225 (I'm not sure there are 500 seats for each team between the 30s).  All seats are numbered, but I suspect the tix to be GA.  There was a home game the week of fall break and the reported attendance was 350.  Even if it's playoff, I doubt that many students will be there.

If you can't get there once again there will be the streaming video.

ScotLass did you get streaming video?  Mine seemed (again) to have a GU problem.  More drip, drip than a stream.  A Widener guy also had problems.

I'm not going to get into a p!$$ing contest.  CWRU has gotten no respect here all season.  After week 10 they had earned some.  I'm confident they will have your respect after Saturday.

The computers say:  Massey(MOV)-  WC  #32   CWR  #37   Laz  WC# 29  CWR #43

The schedules are not that dissimilar, with many common opponents.  I don't see anything that puts Wabash head and shoulders above CWRU.  Some comparisons favor CWRU.  Like a PK w/ 2 GW FGs.  And you don't want to give the ball up with two minutes left (or even 1:21) and less than a TD lead.
