The artificial turf is being put on the field at Wooster.  It appears that it's still being secured; hopefully, some photos will be available by the end of the week.

I think I'll swing down by the Papp tomorrow and see what progress they're making with the field.  The last time I went by there was about a month ago and they had the whole field torn up.

I'll try and take some pics and post them in here if I can.

At least this year I can watch the CONCACAF stuff during the All-Star Break.  Most years there isn't even that.  There's literally no sports on.

I usually find myself watching Big Ten Network Greatest Games or something equally uninteresting.

It was a pretty terrible sports weekend as well...at one point this weekend I caught myself watching a replay of Eastern Michigan vs. Michigan State.  I realized at that moment that I needed to make some changes.   :)

I was at a bar in Broad Ripple a few weeks back with some buddies.  One TV had a live NBA playoff game on, the other had Michigan v. Wisconsin from Big Ten Networks Greatest Games.  We were all watching the Wolverines!

A couple of photos of Wooster's new turf field at Papp Stadium. Getting turf on a football field isn't really newsworthy anymore, except for Wooster, which hasn't had a significant upgrade to any athletic facility in over 10 years.

Looking good! Anybody know when the 2009 Wooster Roster will be updated?

fantastic50

Wooster's (college-wide) website is undergoing a major re-design during this summer.  Almost nothing is being updated in the interim.  With that in mind, I won't be shocked if it's unusually late when the football roster (and even schedules for other fall sports) gets posted.

Bummer......always fun looking through the incoming freshman class and doing some research on them. :(

No worries COW fans....Wesleyan still has the preview for the 2008 season on the website....Spoke with a buddy last month in Cleveland; he said the Bishop freshman class is small.....GO BISHOPS

Being close to 1300 miles away from C-Ville, you can imagine there is not much talk at the local coffee shop about Wabash football and their new recruiting class.    If anyone out there has some info on the class, it would be appreciated.

Who could impact immediately?

Any Adi's (4 year starters) in the class?

Diamonds in the rough?

My understanding is that Armbruster at LB may be such a person.  Do not know about others.

Thanks Wabco.

BTW, don't know if all of you have seen this, but the entire Wabash/Case 2008 playoff game is now up on YouTube. (Last 2 minutes of the game pretty much is the game)

Case does a fantastic job with their webcasts.   Definitely should be studied by others.

Calderone was a beast!

Well, it's nice to see Wooster has a roster and outlook for this season, but if you are looking for anything that happened in the past -- say before today, it looks like you are out of luck. There isn't even results from last year, let alone box scores, recaps or pictures. No records or any other archival info. This was all stuff that was on the old Web site. I don't really understand what happened.

While the site looks nice at first glance, there is no beef whatsoever. For an athletic Web site that was widely considered the cream of the NCAC and one of the better ones in Div. III (based mostly on the depth of content and excellent photography), that mantle has been passed well down the road.

Hopefully the rest of the information will get translated over soon. Trust me, it's not an easy process, retrofitting a bunch of legacy pages. That's the main reason why D3hoops.com is still stuck on its current design -- I am not willing to leave behind the pages from before we went database-driven in 2003.
