Sorry bashbrother, I have to go with Li'l Giant on this one.  It appears to me that Geraldo already has his try and found the safe to be empty.  At least Clouseau's cases are solved even if he stumbles and bumbles his way into solving the case or having the case solved for him because he causes the culprit to make a mistake.  ;D
Repulse them, repulse them!  Make them relinquish the ellipsoid!

It's the final season - call in Adrian Monk...  :D

Tom Runge said it all in his "Grunge Report" from yesterday, and quite tastefully without speculation.   8)
"Forever more as in days of yore Their deeds be noble and grand"

Ah  ... brother Runge ... ever the diplomat.

Now lets get to it ... The Walkster stepped in deep in ka ka. He gets axed.

DePauw, being DePauw, is unable to then respond in a normal way (a la bury the Bell).  So it simply erases herr Walker and puts its hean deep underground and thinks all will be well.  After all, the last time it responded in a situation such as this, it got sued; resulting in a settlement permitting the successful Plaintiff to live out his football future as a HS coach, no less.  Oh, the pain of it all.

Come on Walker ... you are being used and abused.  Set the record.

The school is not affiliated anymore.  Just for the record.  There is no longer a religious affiliation of any kind, although the Church does sit on school grounds.

All of us on both sides of this thing are throwing out a bunch of speculation and not a whole hell of a lot facts here.  Let's at least get ourselves in a situation where the facts are, you know, facts.

DPU3619

Also, while I'm here, you guys were talking this morning about the lack of media coverage on this thing.

I don't know if anybody caught that horrible article the Banner-Graphic ran on Friday.  They just copied and pasted the presser with a couple additional quotes from Robby.  They similarly didn't mention Walker at all in the thing.  I know that publication isn't the beaming beacon of investigative journalism, but at least bring it up!  Say nobody is commenting on it or something.  Anything.  The lack of a story is enough of a story right now.  They're acting like there just isn't anything here, which I think we all believe is blatantly false.

BashDad

Totally, Wes. Totally. Combined with the Indy Star's complete indifference, the task falls to Bearmo and co. May he find a thread.

Also, as far as facts are concerned: What can we rule out? Are filings of lawsuits public record?

FYI, the Star is working this for sure. Story notbig enough for them to go with speculative piece, understandably. But they do have someone who is defintely working it.

Perhaps he's due...after all, he used and abused Wabash the past couple of years in football, not to mention the past DECADE in baseball.  ;D

Can you guys understand why we're happy he's gone?  ;)

Seriously, though, D3_DPUFan and Wes have been pretty good sports in all of this and not homers coming over here telling us to shut up and toeing the line on the silence.

Well, I won't speak for him, as I think he has a youngster in the program.

I'm an alum.  I want the program to succeed more than anybody, but I'd rather lose than keep watching the administration screw this garbage up.  I'm not pointing the finger at them, Walk, or anybody else until I find out what is going on here, but I want to get to the bottom of this.  I want all this dirty laundry out in the open in hopes that we won't be here in another 2 years looking for our sixth coach in a decade after Robby gets run out on a rail.  I caught a lot of flack from DPU folks after the Rogers stuff, but I don't really care.  If the administration isn't going to do this the right way, why are we even doing it at all?

You guys are going to give us a hard time either way.  Heck, some of you guys know more about our program than I do.  We might as well work together to get this crap sorted out.

You're good to notice...

Honestly, the posts over here are entertaining...and for the most part, on target. Part of the rivalry that is enjoyable.  :)

I might take this moment to remind everyone of this.  Regardless of whether this is just a mishandled firing/public relations fiasco or if this is a far greater story there are families involved that are having to deal with all the scuttlebutt.  This has got to be very tough on them.  Very probable that most of the silence is in respect to them.

I can speak from personal experience.  When I was very young a relative of mine pulled a very stupid and dangerous prank which made front page news.  This relative put our family in a very tough spot and I was told that I would hear people talk about it but that I was NOT to talk about it, don't even joke about it.  Believe me, for a grade school age kid to have to deal with the story and the warning to keep silent was rather upsetting at the time.

Just some additional food for thought.

Well said.

Let's take a moment to praise Coach Walker instead of speculating and slinging mud.  I realize his football tenure with Depauw was short-lived, but he did hand Wabash their skirts in both Monon games he coached.  In fact, I'd say that both of his games (2007-2008) are among the most heralded in the rivlry history.

Pulling the starting kicker in 2007 for an unproven kicker on a 47 yrd attempt took serious balls, and the resulting victory was a glorious last-second upset.

Still "underdogs" in 2008, Walker led the Tigers past "#2" Wabash 36-14 in an embarassing coaching clinic.  Proving that 2007 was no fluke, the defeat of the Wallies at home assured fans that the bell would rest in its rightful place for another year and that Depauw would be a nightmare for Wabash for years to come.

Though Walker is presumably moving to another program, I have no doubt that Robby Long has all the tools and abilty to punch "Da Bash" right in da mouth ... he's not afraid to get a little lipstick on his fist.
