assume...'nuff said

Actually, if you read the Q&A with Coach Raeburn you will see that Mr. Ypsi is correct.

Now that's enough said.

bashbrother,
thanks for that link.  that was probably one of the most fun games i had in my entire career at bash.  i had always regretted how i underperformed against wooster so i wanted to make it a point to finally play to my potential.  i think i came close to accomplishing that.  its crazy to see just how much fun we have as a program on the field.  we all know how many cool things we do off the field, but we sometimes forget how much fun it is to be out there and making plays.

I watched the "chant" twice....wow!!

Earlham's departure may open up a game, however, the other issue is when the game is played. Wabash never plays on week 1. Never has. Never will, I bet. Mt. Union's non-conference game is always week 1.

Until 2010 and 2011 when the Purple Raiders play Oshkosh week 2.

I thought when the NCAC-UAA schedule was discussed last year, it was agreed none of us knew the exact process by which the schedule was prepared.  Perhaps the Earlham and Allegheny schedules (as well as Wabash's Bell Game) reflected contracts already entered into.  All I said was there appears to be a way that a second game outside of the agreement can be scheduled.

We don't know the process, but I believe the NCAC and the UAA agreement was OK'd by most all of the league teams that it would fill 2 NCAC non conference games, leaving one free (for most teams).

Actually, it makes it so much easier on ADs around the league. And it really helps the UAA. And it should help the NCAC, since the UAA has usually a good league profile.

Then again, the NCAC doesn't play a complete round-robin schedule, presently (e.g. OWU and Earlham aren't on the 2009 Wabash schedule)... this gave rise to quite a bit of discussion a few years ago when it appeared that Kenyon could possibly win the league and playoff berth without running the Witt-Wabash gauntlet.

Circuitously, it comes back to if Earlham is accepted into the HCAC (already play three of the eight football schools) and if the NCAC opts for expansion or stands pat.

Just back from the game.  The statement in bold is correct.  A better team would have had us on the ropes today.  Pass rush was MIA until the last Wash U series.  Too many yards after initial contact on D (esp. in 1st half).  Two pass plays completed over 50 yds, one for a TD, and Lemond's fumble were all big plays for the bad guys.  Throw in the fake FG, and there will be no shortage of areas to work on in practice this week.

I did like the balance of the offense - Hudson made some nice plays running, and dished out some punishment as well.  Passing attack was solid, and we made a ton of first downs (stats show 25 - seemed like more!).  Linebacker play was exceptional - Watson, Gum & Kraft are quite a trio.

Next week's game against Witt will be insane - sure glad it's at home.
