love the heart of the Little Giants today.  They proved that Wabash Always Fights!

Unfortunately I was correct about not being able to win without Hudson.  The deficiecy's I have seen in our backup QB's showed today against a top flight defense.  Miracle did a great job of managing the game and almost pulled out a miracle but in the end a special teams mistake costs us the game.

With Hudson it's probably a different game and a different season.

At least now this should make the Bell Game mean a little more to this team because that now becomes our playoffs.  Unfortunately with one loss in the conference that seals our chance for the playoffs.  Conference in all is too weak to get two teams into the playoffs.

Even if Wooster would beat Wittenberg and we beat Wooster next week(which won't be easy by any means without Hudson).  I don't see us getting automatic bid from conference.

1 special teams play ended up setting them up for the FG....

Nice return...nice win.

If that kick would have gone out of bounds....we go to overtime.

Coulda...shoulda...woulda...... onward and upward.......WAF

The Bell Game just got even more important.

Depauw to Hell....get back the Bell

not to be mr. negative which I'm sure it sounds like I am.  But a one loss Bash doesn't get into playoffs as at large bid.  Only way is a 3 way tie for title if Wooster beats Witt and we beat Wooster.

Our conference is not strong enough and our out of conference schedule doesn't help us.  I doubt committee cares too much that we didn't have our QB against Witt.

BashDad

I totally disagree. One loss, without your starting qb, by three points, plus the bell is a pretty solid case for pool c.

BashDad

And I'd LOVE to see Witt in the playoffs...

firstdown

Great win by Witt.  The LG's almost held in there.  2 mistakes by the special teams - the off sides on the kick off and running out of bounds on the kick off with no time left.  Oh well, time for the LG's to tighten the chip straps and run the table.  WAF!

Wabash beats Depauw and gets the Bell back..... we get a Pool C....

The thing is, DePauw is going to need some help or they are going to be in the same boat.  I don't want to put the cart in front of the horse, but we could be in a situation come 11/14 where the winner is in and the loser is out.

It is way too early to go negative on the playoffs.  Wabash absolutely has a great chance of making the playoffs if they run the table and go 9-1.  The power weighting of the NCAC schedule works to Wabash's advantage in the playoff selection criteria.  Potentially they have a 3 point loss to a 10-0 conference champion, and potentially a win over a regionally-ranked 7-2 SCAC champion.  Those are strong credentials.  A lot of football left to be played.  Certainly Wabash's chances are no worse than the 9-1 HCAC runner up from two years ago (Mount St. Joseph) or even 8-2 Wheaton last year.

Hey I hope I am wrong.  We'll see what Pat Coleman says.  But if you look at the criteria for at large bids our conference is too weak to get an at large bid.  We would need a ton of help.  Plus this isn't the NCAA basketball selection process, there are criteria to use such as strength of conference, schedule, and opponents wining percentage.  Our schedule doesn't help us there.  It doesn't mean we aren't one of top 32 teams but with the criteria they use for at large I don't see us getting in.  I hope I am wrong.  I would be very interested in seeing what Pat's thoughts are.

That is a real possibility . . . this could set up an epic Monon Bell.

sad to say this but we need to cheer for Depauw to win every game up til the Bell of course.  Same for Wooster, need to hope they win out(except against us).   Then I see the argument where we could possibly get in as at large.

Man I don't know if I can cheer for Depauw to win.

Li'l Giant

I know this isn't Depauw's board but if they ended up winning out could they be hurt by only having 8 wins? Their biggest loss of the year might be the SCAC losing Colorado College.

Bottom line, this was a terrific college football game with two teams that obviously both wanted it bad.

Another chapter in what is becoming a real rivalry.

Wabash's inability to gain anything on the ground, in the end, cost us.

You have to give it up to the Witt D.   They came in and played.

It is one of those games, that will be remembered by this football fan for a long time.

Josh Miracle...... put in a tough spot.  Not bad at all considering the circumstance....

Could you imagine your first ever College start being against the No. 1 defense in the country?   Offensive line did their job in protecting the pass today.  It could've been much worse if they didn't.

Lil Giant - 1 and 1 today.... not bad.... Congrats to the Horns of UT

Possibly, but I doubt it.  I think the SCAC OWP is going to be good enough, unless Millsaps decides to go 5-5.  Austin is better.  BSC is better.  DePauw would also get help from an 8-2 Wabash team if they beat them.  However, if Anderson would like to win ONE TIME this year, that would help.
