Congrats to Holter and Frederick......hopefully Frederick won't have the same outing as he did last week  ;)

I stand by my comments of 10/15, when I said I hoped Hudson would be on the field Saturday.  And I hold to the fire the feet of those Wabash fans  who said "it" would never happen.  ("It" being the loss to Witt, as well as the "if-thens" related to Hudson's absence.)  Because both did happen.
Now, I hope you get your QB back soon, because he is a huge part of your team, and I want you to win out and make a legitimate run.  I don't root against my rivals, unless we are playing them that week.  I want them at their best.  I makes everything so much more satisfying and well-defined for both teams.
A football season is a long affair, and injuries are a big part of the equation.
Your ability to rise above the adversity that things like injuries present is one of the key things that ultimately define you as a team.
If we meet again this year, I hope you can put your best team on the field, just as I hope Witt can.
Good luck to both teams.

Sure, the game plan is different without Hudson, but Witt's defensive game plan would be different as well. You have to figure that they prepared for Wabash without Hudson all week.

You think that's the case? I wouldn't want to be caught by surprise if Hudson went out there on Saturday morning. Easier to gameplan for Hudson and adjust donward.

Maybe, but I think their games are different enough to change game plans.

I was at the game.  Ds were outstanding.  Simple.  Wabash wins with udson and without him it was a crap shoot.  One breakdown by special teams on an otherwise great performance throughout the day was the difference.  As the game plan was restricted by a new QB in the equasion with different strengths and weaknesses, the run game was able to be concentrated upon and unable to get underway with the potency it might have had ... nothing like a couple of Hudson stings to loosen up the Witt D.  But it was not there, so played with what had ... and this was what made the teams equal.  Note the number of times Wabash was 3 and out ... based upon just QB newness and lack of hard game experience along with not as strong an arm.  So Wabash played D much longer than Witt  ... which had Witts compliment of RB, QB, and O same as it has had all year.  I suspect if we play Witt a week later ... QB has more time and plan changes and Wabash wins.  Perfect storm for Witt.  And they escaped.

You can mark this down ... if we get another shot ... there will be no escape.  I am taking nothing from Miracle.  His is my QB in the equation.  Just with a little more experience and meshing of personnel.  I look for "second" game improvement regarding the game against Woo this weekend.

Wabash ran the ball for 33 yds on 20 (1.6 avg) carries in 2008 .  Hudson throw 3 picks and had a 51% completion %  in that same game. In 2009 Wabash run for 29 yds on 28 (1.0 avg) carries.  Miracle had a 58% completion % in 2009. I don't know Hudson would have played better base off of history.  I'm not sure you can say Wabash win or loses with Hudson in 2009.  However, that is the ifs and buts game and like I said in a post earlier, "Witt wins in 2008 IF Huffman and Weber play" not that I believe that BUT its the same point. What info do you have to prove that wrong? In this seasons game Huffman had 4 INTs? Hudson had 3 in 2008 with a lower % than Miracle.  YOU JUST DONT KNOW!

short, these are my thoughts exactly.  Through the first 3 quarters it looked to me like the first team to get a Pick 6 would win this game.  Wabash missed on two good chances, and Witt missed on one.  No matter how you slice it, there was not a heck of a lot of difference between this game and the game a year ago.  Wabash actually had the longest scoring drive of the game, Witt's two scores were set up by a short field resulting from special teams miscues.  Bottom line, Witt came up with one more big play than Wabash this year, just like Wabash came up with one more big play than Witt last year.

By the way, I think this year's Witt D is the best that Wabash has seen since the Whitewater game in the 2007 playoffs.

speaking of wooster enjoying the intra-banter. but where is scotlass the voice of sanity and logic in ncac & woooster?

old wabash:
How delightful to be missed ;D I did post responses to some items back in July.......July 21st to be exact.

Post #1 in response to some musings about Wooster's potential for spectacular defense:
"Not to be a party pooper.....BUT, here lies the area of concern for Woo. The D-line lost starters Byrne and Brown at DT, both big, aggressive, experienced players. Wade at DE returns but Drake at DE, arguably the most aggressive player at DE, is not returning. Hope springs eternal that the new D-line will step it up and alleviate any concerns"

Post #2 in response to some musings about Wooster having whalloped Witt last season and this year's expectations:
"Easy now..........

.......see if you read the article and think back a bit, Witt had injuries to some very significant players last season. 3 of their 4 losses were by 3 pts, one of those in OT. Woo played a heck of a final game against Witt in a perfect storm that combined Witt's injuries, Woo's home field, and horrific weather in a muddy mess that played to Woo's strengths.

What Witt is returning is a healthy group of players that beat the bejesus out of Woo at Witt the previous season, 58-7, in one of the most demoralizing games I have had the misfortune to see in person"

Sooooooo......I haven't had anything particularly new to add ;)

BESIDES.....I have cut back on internet access so I can show my support by sending everything I save to the Wooster general fund.......it's my penance for my tendency to critique ;)

Always great to hear from you Lass..... Hope you are well.

This is a huge week.  We're gonna be missing some big time playmakers on both sides of the ball so lets hope everyone can step up their game.  Always means ALWAYS!!!!

Holter seems to put up big numbers week in and week out....the key to this game is how many times can he lead them into the endzone. The Scots seem to stall a lot in the redzone and that makes for a more interesting game, especially if Miracle can move the offense :'(.  I doubt this matchup will be the defensive battle you witnessed last week.

Big game tomorrow....sounds like the forecast is " Cloudy with a chance of rain/ high 53 degrees". Not much chatter from either team. Good luck to Wabash, and GO SCOTS!

If by "central Ohio" you mean Columbus, do yourself the favor and stop by the Thurman Cafe.  And go hungry.

Would it be a Wabash/Wooster game in late October if it weren't damp out?   :)

Note to NCAC Pick 'Em players

I must have still been in a daze from Witt's last second field goal when I put this week's games on the pick 'em board...I forgot to include the WUStL/OWU game.  I've posted that game now, so if you've already picked please go back to the pick 'em board and get your pick in for that game.
