How'd Wooster score? Just went to the door and had to get rid of a Jahovia's Witness.

Not a great day for the LGs but good enough. I thought Belton was impressive. He definitely show's some promise for the future.

Lemond was spectacular and Stevens was a beast late in the game.

Holter is fast on his feet but made the INTs were killer.

on to next week.

Now two weeks to get timing down, get well, and completely get there !  Lots of numbers out there today which you generally do not see early in a game ... good omen for the future.  GO WABASH !

So ... also two weeks to find Waldo ... er Walker.

I feel for you. 10-26 since 2005. I think this may be it for Hollway, no?

How much worse can it really get in Delaware?
The frustration level mirrors the dark days of the program in the later seasons of Coach Jack Fouts (1970's-80's)...
OWU said goodbye to Steve Farkasovsky after 3 seasons (1984-86) of 5-23-1....and OWU is 10-26 since 2005? (Thanks smedindy).
Does anyone think AD Ingles or Prez Rocky will address this....
But, hey...soccer is #1 in the nation...so football can take a back-seat..again.

Submitting this for the approval of the group:

When you're a good football team, and you have two absolute creampuffs on the schedule right before your biggest game of the year, I think that may be more of a hinderance than a help.  You aren't "get your timing down."  You're throwing it all over the joint against slow DB's, your offensive line are blocking not nearly as talented players, and your coaches are coaching against less talented coaches.

Now, I'm not saying Wabash needs to move Witt to Week #9, nor should DePauw finish with Millsaps and Trinity.  But, what if it was Gheny instead?  My theory has always been that playing good football teams is less like riding a bike and more like swinging a golf club.  If you don't do it for a while, you kinda lose the feel of what it's like.

There were many of you who thought Wabash was locked in for Bell day after they got out of Oberlin & Hiram with a 123-7 scoring margin last season.  DePauw struggled mightily in this game when they used to knock around RHIT in Week #9 a few years before they left.

Just my theory on things.  Disagree at your own leisure.  It's not a NCAC knock, there are bad teams in every conference.  I'd ask the same question if DePauw was leading into this game with Anderson and Rhodes.

We are going to find out next year, Wes. Wabash is at Witt in week 10.

I also couldn't help but notice that with the 2010 schedule reshuffle, Witt somehow wound up with a week 9 bye in front of the Wabash game.  ::)

I think a school that allowed Jack Fouts to end on 12 consecutive losing seasons might be a little more patient than you seem to be.

aueagle

So OWU lets the guy get 30 yrs in college coaching before cutting him loose?
That's 3 more seasons.....
I hear what you're saying NCAC4 Life.....and if a school is willing to put up with the Fouts and the current situation..then that says mediocrity or lower, is the goal...That has been acceptable in Delaware...We win All-Sports Trophies....but, the football program is just a step higher than Hiram...
but, and I've said this for before..
UNTIL OWU makes a commitment to football success...nothing really matters...
It will be what it is...what it has been...
a very average/sub-average program....
We're 1-6...

wally,
where did you find 2010 schedule?

at papp today, good day for bash!
frosh qb shows ability to throw the kind of passes (30-40 yds) that would have opened up game last week.
frosh rb looks like the kind of rb that er needs to play the o game he talks.
is the raeburn era about to begin, now that we see his recruits get to the field?
hope he can keep up the exciting qb play that cc brought to bash!

So the bye...is a Witt.-concocted conspiracy? Seriously, you  2 'bash guys are contradicting each other a bit: one says it's disadvantageous to schedule a 'cream puff' or two before a big game, but the other says a bye (which seems even more cream-filled to me) is an advantage (but only for the opponent)? Ya' can't have it both ways. Besides, next year in of itself will tell very little empirically. It would take a lot of seasons to make that clear, if then.
