Entertaining indeed.  It is difficult to tell whether or not that James kid was making a rather lame attempt at sacastic journalism ??? ::) :P or if he was actually serious.  But, ah, the good old days of college juvenile behavior that we've all been guilty of at one time or another "way back then".  Regardless, we'll see if Master James will be eating his words tomorrow, ranting that good old crybaby excuses if Wabash ends up beating or even smashing DePauw tomorrow.  How's that old saying go?...He who laughs first.... ::) :o ;D  ;)

Do I really have to explain that joke?

This is from the article you didn't read and then posted about:

"Such constant need to feel important leads to a red 'W' spray painted onto the legendary boulder that resides on East College Lawn." [we'll just say "never mind" to the poor syntax]

So while you quip--lamely, I might add-- that "on the eve of the great battle, the wabash faithful are going to the student newspaper," I'd point out that we're going other places too.

And I think it's awesome.

Whatever...sleep tight Napoleon...time to focus on more important things.

Promises to be a great game tomorrow.

Wabash Always Fights

I have been lurking on the "Bell Game". This resembles OSU vs Michigan.

It seems that Wabash has the most to gain and lose, if they lose. From my understanding Bash needs to win to get in. DPU is already in.

Does this elevate Wabash's focus?  Does DPU figure win or lose we are still in? Or if both teams were 0 for the year would this still be the most important game of the season?

wally_wabash

Undefeated or winless, in the playoffs or not, this is the most important game of the year for both teams.  Regardless of what happens in weeks 1-10 or week 12 and later, the season has a void if you lose this game.

With the relative strength of the two teams and all of the added ramifications around this year's game, I can pretty safely say that I've never been more anxious about any Bell game than I am about this one.  This one is positively huge.

On the eve of the great battle...the Wabash faithful are going to the student newspaper. The knuckle draggers never surprise...but always entertain.  :D

Maybe the red W is a gift from the other Tigers meant to pump up some more Tigers.

WABASH WINS!  WABASH WINS! WABASH WINS!

Now we have to just sit and wait for the playoff pairings and hope we don't get jobbed again and left out.  I see no way we don't make the playoffs and who knows, maybe we get to host a game.

Looks like that Time of Possession stat turned out to be meaningless.  Depauw dominates first half and only leaves up 1 point then Wabash dominates second half to take one game lead in in Monon Bell battle.

For those that didn't watch.  Wabash was up 12 points in the 4th quarter with about 9 minutes left.  Had 4th down and 1/2 yard on their own 20 yard line.  Bash tried to draw offsides and didn't, called time out.  QB on the sideline talked Coach into calling QB sneak and going for it.  They had not run a single QB sneak in two years since Raeburn took over as coach.  Decided to go for it and got first down.  Went down filed to score another TD putting Wabash up 19 and sealing victory.
