Having limited knowledge of the North hasn't stopped Matt Florjancic from writing the Great Lakes article every week.

Interesting thoughts about the institutional memory on the "old conference".  All I know is ... is that Wabash for one ... would support DePauw (and I am sure does, if the string here is accurate that there is a serious application and consideration).  It just seems to me to be a very good thing on a number of levels .... and speaking of levels, check out the Runge blog this morning for a look at a level playing field.

Go Wabash and Beat DePauw ... as a member of the NCAC.

I am becoming a believer in Seinfeld.  An amendment to the Seinfeld pronouncement ... 2012 sounds more "pregnant" for entry into the full football aspect of the "partnership".  Would hate to be playing football in the SWAC next year.  Cold ... really cold ... it is going to be REALY COLD down there

Me thinks you intended to type "SCAC," Wabco - the Dannies definitely don't fit the SWAC profile   ;)  Either way. agree with the chill factor...

...and DPU has permanent Visitors' stands too!  The so-called Visitors' 'locker room/outhouse' is another matter.

You are correct ... hit the wrong letters.

Out of respect for both schools' administrations,

Maybe we should hold off on any comment and let the process unfold as it will.

If true, it will be a big announcement.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

The ironic thing is that, from what I can gather, the decision to extend the invite to DePauw was finalized when the NCAC President's Council met last month -- at Wabash.

And I would suggest they also received whole hearted support from the Wabash "host".

I would hope (and would expect)... that when the "rest of the story" comes out ... that Wabash was a lead supporter.  We do plan to beat their brains out on the football and other athletic fields of endeavor ... but they should be a part of the NCAC ...

Does anybody close to the Bash football program have any more information on incoming RB?

Was back at Wabash for reunion this weekend and word is there is a freshman RB coming next year. That is 6' 1" weighing 205 and runs a 10.68 100 yd dash.  State champion in 100yd and powerful runner.  Had some low level div1 and div2 scholarship offers but wants to play football and run track which is one of reasons he decided to go to Wabash because he didn't think he could do both on a higher level.

Will say that got this information from reliable source but wanted to know if anybody else knew anything.  Unfortunately didn't get the kids name.

As we wait for the announcement, one can ponder how Wooster is not playing a football game during its Homecoming this year on October 9. Isn't football the central element of Homecoming for every school, high school or college, that has a football team? I believe the NCAC scheduling issues that arose from Earlham leaving and their refusal to make Kenyon and Oberlin play everyone caused this. Of course, Wooster is on a bye that week, so maybe they can have a scrimmage or a skills contest for the alumni.

Seriously?  The NCAC took away Wooster's homecoming game???  Wow.

Who is running the NCAC anyway? It seems that the right hand does not know what the left hand it doing! What is missing, Wally? :o

No Football Game on Homecoming? I don't think I have ever heard of something like that.

Question:  Why didn't Wooster just change the date of Homecoming?   The scheduling issue would have been discovered quite awhile ago.   Maybe they were hoping to fill the slot and then ran out of time to change it.

Generally speaking, homecoming dates are set in advance and certainly the date and schedule of events for homecoming 2010 was already set.  That the NCAC didn't take care to protect home games for those schools who were having homecomings in the middle of the schedule is a shame on the NCAC.  The schools shouldn't have to change around their already-set homecoming schedules because Earlham bailed.

BP execs think the NCAC really botched dealing with the football schedule after Earlham left the league.  They seriously massacred this whole thing.
