This is for all you Bash Boys to thump on Depauw.
According to the Princeton Review, Depauw is the no. 10 party school in the country. I guess the NCAC didn't get that before admitting them to their" Mid West Ivy League Conference."

Well, if all you Bash Boys go to Depauw to get your women, its all good!

Suspect there is a large margin for error in picking the Dannie school a top 10 party school.

Not so very long ago all good little Dannie undergrads had to sign a pledge not to drink while at DPU and that evil of evils ... was banned from the campus and possessing/using it was grounds for dismissal.  I recall a story (believe it is accurate and not urban mith)that a Dannie was in a Playboy pic of Ft. lauderdale spring breakers with a DPU shirt on and holding a Bud (but not drinking/inhaling, of course) and was dismissed from the school for that infraction.  So ... from there to the present top 10 ranking ... you have come a long way baby!

That is a not a fact.  Bottoms tried to propose that, but it was never signed by myself or about 99% of the active students.  The Walker Cup candidates sure all signed it, though.

EDIT:  It was never illegal to possess alcohol on DePauw's campus.  That's just ridiculous.

Bashbro - how in the world did you get that pic of the new jerseys?  Very sharp, dig them.

BashDad#84 - perhaps you should show the "BACK" of Wes' jersey??   ;D  That will be a more frequent view of #84.

Alright...lots of question marks on the Bash O-front and no one has provided any specifics or names.  Here are some names that should be competing up front...just my opinion.  Hopefully Brent Harris will have the roster posted and updated...I know I am missing some guys too going off the 2009 roster.  I like the fact that ER has this group and I like that these guys have been in the program waiting on their shot.  The size is there for sure.

Sr. Nick Durm, 6'5 280 (should be a leader up front)
Jr. Chris Daniel, 6'5 303
Jr. Jack Ruddy, 6'1 278 (needs to stay healthy but could be nasty)
So. Wes Kitley, 6'4 290
So. Chase Tichenor, 6'2 275

Can't wait til camp!!!  WAF!!!

16-

ER put the pic up on his Twitter a couple of days ago.  I have to say...I'm a little "meh" on the new jerseys.  Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer a traditional look to the jersey....something along these lines:

I think they're great. An updated version of those you pictured, Wally. Anything was better than the home reds they've had previous years. These are sharp. Same kind of jersey that Boise State wore last year if I'm not mistaken...

BashDad

If we're nitpicking: I do wish the "Wabash" was bigger.

I'll agree that the new jerseys are better than these from last year:

Although I'm still also not a big fan of the red on red combo.

According to the Princeton Review, Depauw is the no. 10 party school in the country. I guess the NCAC didn't get that before admitting them to their" Mid West Ivy League Conference."

Wabash didn't make the most newsworthy Princeton Review list, but the College did land on a number of other far less ignominious lists on the survey...highlighted by being #2 in "Best Athletic Facilities".  #2 and getting better every single day.  It's great to see the students expressing pride and appreciation for those facilities in this survey.  A full list of the, well, lists that Wabash landed on can be found in this piece from the Wabash page

Not only did DePauw hit the party school list, but they also landed on other PR-friendly lists such as "Town-Gown Relations Are Strained" (#8) and "Lots of Beer" (#14, clearly trending upward on this list as a result of The Zima Discontinuation of 2008™).  Surprisingly, I was unable to find a link from the DePauw home page citing their top 20 positions in the Princeton Review rankings.  I'll update the post when that story gets posted.

It's not all bad news for DPU...they still have the #1 radio station!  Way to go, kids.

Was just perusing the LG schedule for 2010...and found an interesting tidbit.  Check it out:

9/11 - vs. Wooster (FieldTurf)
9/18 - @ OWU (OmniGrass)
9/25 - vs. Chicago (FieldTurf)
10/2 - @ Kenyon (OmniGrass)
10/9 - @ Washington University (FieldTurf)
10/16 - vs. Oberlin (FieldTurf)
10/23 - @ Denison (FieldTurf)
10/30 - vs. Allegheny (FieldTurf)
11/6 - @ Wittenberg ("Artificial"...for some reason Witt isn't sharing their turf of choice)
11/13 - vs. DePauw (FieldTurf)

That's 10 games and not a single blade of natural grass.  I know the trend has been for schools to go with synthetic surfaces, but it's kind of strange to have arrived at the day when every game on the schedule is on artificial grass.

I believe Hiram and Oberlin are the two remaining NCAC schools that have to mow their own field.  DPU will join them in a couple of years...unless of course they put the beer bong down for a minute and generate some capital for a turf install.   :)

BB16/Wabco/Wally - Do you have an update on the DLine and other key returning starters on D? (its been a long summer)

And Wes - my man

I stand by my post as both being correct and accurate.  (I believe Methodist induced), and it was pre-bottoms, if it is possible to be lower than a bottom.  All those liquor regulations and - of course - the house mothers and "hours" were a great advantage when attracting the more worldly of the Dannettes to weekends (and even weekdays) at Wabash.  (As an aside, the Dannie ruling hunta even provided for a parent - should the parent so desire to have this power - to provide written permission before a daughter could be released to spend a weekend at Wabash. Thereby giving rise to a vibrant counterfiting industry in permission slips.)

There used to be (maybe still is) a "flag football" contest (broken bones were not an unknown in this "friendly" contest) between the Wabash and DePauw Sigma Chi Houses the morning of the Monon Bell Game on the campus of the home team.  The loser of this flag football contest had to furnish the keg of beer for the after the game festivities.  Wabash always furnished it, as the Dannies were not permitted by the ruling hunta and were apprehensive to violate the below bottoms rules pertaining thereto.  Was there ... saw and did that.  Now, in the spirit of complete disclosure, there were a cadre of hardy and "edgy" Dannies in the Sigma Chi House (good guys) there who would violate the rules ... quietly ... but only quietly ... as the threat of hard discipline was very real.

First you let them dance ... then that demon rum sneaks into play ... and the next thing you know they are on Princton's top 10 list for DRINKING PARTIES.
