Please tell me that we didn't rush 3 and drop 8 on the last OWU scoring drive???  I can't believe they waltz down the field in less than 2 minutes and score????????  45-14 sounds a heck of a lot better than 45-21.  Very frustrating game and the penalties were just devastating...

UGH.

ER will get this stuff cleaned up.

It was their #1 offense for the most part except for their QB, who seemed dinged up after the game. The second team D was a bit vanilla.

Our #1 offense just wore down their D in the second half. OWU has some talent, not a lot of depth and their freshmen will be good IF they stay at OWU.

I don't mind them scoring at the end. They need confidence and I'd rather have that than a team mail it in.

Penalties and turnovers. Chase needs to make better reads and not try to force the ball into his primary receivers. I think that Gheny, Witt and DPU won't have those issues with their punt teams.

Witt has defeated WashU 37-7 which is not surprising.  What will catch your attention is that McKee caught 9 balls for, wait for it, 318 yards and 5 TDs.  Wow.

Yowza!

I think there needs to be a little tough love in the Little Giants locker room.   Too many mental mistakes.....  Sure they are young, but it is time to grow up fast.  This is Little Giants Football.

Funny how we were disappointed that Wabash's tough games were back loaded this year.   Seems to be a blessing at this point.

Allegheny will take us out if we continue to play like this.  Witt will embarrass us.

Not good enough.

We're making this QB look like the dude from U of Michigan!!!

He, like Belton, was making his third collegiate start. However, all of the other skill players at OWU are freshmen. He's got a lot of poise for a kid and is going to be a good one if he stays upright and stays at OWU.

If the 'bottom 5' can improve, this conference may get a lot more respect and not be totally in the OAC shadow nationally.

Can you tell I just got back to my hotel in Indy? I'm posting everything I thought about on the drive from Delaware (and sitting for 15 minutes on I-70 near Mt. Comfort - how bad is that during the week???)

Heck, we need to play top notch next week to get past the Maroons! They're not exactly Earlham...

This is the year ER will really earn his paycheck.   Leading a senior led team into battle is far easier than dealing with youthful squad without a ton of leadership on the field.

I think the defense will need to lead this team. If they can make plays and cause turnovers, it will take pressure off of the offense.

I did like the back rotation and the way the o-line blocked in the second half. I think there may have been some 'tough love' by coach Raeburn with that group at halftime.

Speaking as a Wooster Scot guy, Wabash people, don't forget that you guys have lost arguably the top two receivers in the league in the first couple weeks of the season.  The fact that you are undeafeated and have time to regroup is a blessing.
As a fan I would have loved to have seen both of your guys play. They carried themselves with class and I have enjoyed following them the last three years.
And you have depth.  I think our season would be over if one or two of our top guys got hurt.
Were LeMond and Chamblee at the game today?
Next week will be at Selby.  Do not think game will be as close as I earlier thought.
Aueagle, going out on a limb and guessing that Hollway does not coach after this year and might not make it this through this year.  I know, this is the NCAC, but  Hiram looks better than OWU so far.  In fact, they play each other the last game of the season.  If Hiram wins that game, well.....................

I sincerely doubt that Witt will embarass the LGs. I do not remember a year that Wabash was not at their best and ready for that matchup.

I sincerely doubt that Witt will embarass the LGs. I do not remember a year that Wabash was not at their best and ready for that matchup. Even with the unfortunate loss of players of the caliber of the 2 WRs, the WAF rule always seems to be in effect during the WITT/WAB annual battle; frequently much to the chagrin of Tiger fans everywhere. The Tiger Nation is quite confident that Wabash will continue to improve and play to the level that is expected of them.  Look at the surprises Wittenberg has presented themselves with in just the last 4-5 years. I'm talking about L's that were supposed to be W's. OWU in 04&06, Gators in 05&08, Wash. U. 08 and the WOO WHOOPIN in the mud in 08. Those are just some recent memories and not to present a bad omen but were years with unexpected personell losses; Lose a QB, a WR, a couple of OLs and a lot of teams falter. Seems like Wabash always recovers. To the parents of the injured guys, I know first hand how it feels to watch that boy sit the bench in a bandage. When the hurt goes away and the bandages are off, all that is left is a mature and well rounded young man with an education from one of the finest universities in the country.  All Witt fans wish them the best 9-1 season they can have.

Somebody from the NCAC has to beat somebody from the OAC after week 11 for that to happen.  Nationally speaking, team and conference rep comes from how that team and conference perform in the playoffs.  It's been a really long time since a member of the NCAC has notched what would qualify as a signature win.

Deep breaths, bashbro.  Wabash was better this week than they were last week.  Next week they will be better than they were this week.  Extrapolate for six more weeks and know that Wabash will be ready for the big games.

Woke up this morning feeling much better about things.

I guess I, like many, have become a little spoiled with a well oiled Little Giants attack.   Throw in a little continued frustration and disbelief about #1 and #84 not being there.

Plus, my Cougs probably would lose to UWW Whitewater this year, seriously.

Onward and Upward for this Little Giants Squad.

Look at this way, you've got 5 games to get it right.  There isn't a team in that group that can hold a candle to the LG's until you get to the final 3 on the schedule.

Whatever's going on here, be it effort related, mental mistakes, or having to work youth in at the skill positions, you've got PLENTY of reps between now and 10/30 in Crawfordsville to get that straightened out.

Wally,

At this point (after only 2 games), it looks like the two teams from the OAC could very well be Mount Union and Ohio Northern once the season is concluded and the playoffs begin!
