BashDad, BashBro,

Pass interference or a DROP by Big Play Ray???  How annoying was Capital's cannon...or was it a speaker used to play their fight song...I cannot remember.  I do remember Mr. Rocky Pentello...  Man, that was a great, great football game.

Thgis week's big news out of Delaware.....New & Improved Mascot!
http://www.delgazette.com/local.asp?ID=2176&Story=1
Maybe this will inspire the football team....
I don't expect 6,000 at Selby for the CMU game...but, how many fans
and how this team acts & responds to a 0-5 record will be interesting.

Very close.   If there was any interference, your probably not going to get that call at the end of a hard fought playoff game.

It was a tremendous football game.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

The BPD3 Level System Top 25 unveiled:

NOTE:
BPD3 Level System Top 25
To add to the intrigue and fun of the ranking system, I am creating "Levels" within the Top 25. In the "Level System", I will be grouping teams that are reasonably comparable in my opinion and exposing where I believe there is a drop-off of some kind between ranks.

Is there anyone "intruding" on Level 1 with UW-W and Mount Union?

On what level does Wittenberg land?  Are the Little Giants on the radar?

Where do the "breaks" occur between levels?

That made me laugh.
Sounds like a lot of planning and forethought went into this decision.

Can the new mascot punt protect?

I just looked at the OWU stats, thinking it was a case of Wabash's rampaging special teams.

Five blocked punts? A 22.9 GROSS punting average?

Wow...
Wabash Always Fights!

He's a clergyman. I think the best he can do is pray for punt protection.

Possible solutions for teams having trouble with their Punt Team

1.  Go for it on every 4th down, you may improve field position and not allow a score.

2.  Complain about the officiating because opponents must be off-sides due to the fact that they are returning your punts for TD's from behind you.  ;)

3.  Move the punter towards the line of scrimmage to try and draw more roughing penalties.  Automatic first down...just sayin.

4.  Place your entire punt team (except the center and the punter) on the goal line.... let the opposing team block the punt and you'll have plenty of defenders in position to prevent the score....

Lastly

5.  The Miami Dolphins just fired their special teams coach after Monday Night.... you could bring him in for a look.

:)

I'll be here all weekend... actually traveling up to Indy this weekend.  Of course Wabash has a road game.

As a OWU football fan I don't understand at all how the punt team can have this many problems...There have been many times where it was 4th and 1 or 4th and 2 and OWU is punting it when they know they have punting problems. Now i understand that there are times when you have 4th and a few that you got to punt it, but they also don't have really any good punts. They are also shanked alot too. Here is a good question while doesnt OWU have one of their actual kickers punt? There are 2 kickers on their roster...Most times these kids used to play soccer so shouldnt they be able to punt.
