I'm not sure where he saw them both as All-Americans, but both did receive postseason recognation last year on the All-North Region team (Chamblee as the first-team returner, LeMond as a third-team receiver).  All-Americans or not, they obviously were a big loss.  Here's an edited excerpt from the Bash season preview:

"LeMond earned First Team All-NCAC honors...he caught 65 passes for 1,059 yards and 14 TDs...Chamblee caught 60 passes for 778 yards and six TDs to earn a Second Team All-NCAC selection."

So even if they weren't All-Americans, I think it's fair to say the loss of two 60-catch senior receivers would hurt.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

Chamblee All-American are a return specialist and LeMond preseason by a magazine. Neither on our Preseason All-American team, though both are quite good players, don't get me wrong.

As noted....Wes Chamblee was a D3football.com All American as a kick returner last year.  I believe Kody Lemond was recognized as a preseason AA in some publications prior to the 2009 season.  These two are great football players and were really the lone source of significant game experience coming back to the offense.  Wabash is missing their talent for sure, but there are talented players behind them playing now.  The one thing that you can't make up for is the experience those two have and I think we're seeing inexperience manifest itself into some inconsistent games from the offense.

Wabash will keep working (as hard as ever now, no doubt) and improving and be ready for the big league games coming up.

It is just pretty sad when you realize that Chamblee's stat line for the year was:

Receiving:      GS/GP        #     Yards  Avg  TD    Long

Wes Chamblee       1-1      1     72     72.0     1     72

Wes also had 1 kick return for 21 yards.   He got to touch the ball twice.

Lemond didn't get to touch it once in the regular season.

Not an excuse... just sad to see promising seniors go down.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

I believe Kody Lemond set the NCAC record for receiving yards in a season in his sophmore year...

Kody and Wes have played together for four years, last year they were room mates. Today they had knee surgery, one after the other. I think there is a book here!  8-)

Everything went well......

Chase still not cleared - http://www.thepaper24-7.com/main.asp?SectionID=24&SubSectionID=23&ArticleID=28288

I've said this already but I really like Burke and what he brings to the table.  Granted I don't want Chase hurt or injured but I am thankful we have a productive backup that can still make plays and lead our O.  Tyler Burke is a cool story, a good "get" recruit out of Comstock, MI who ran the spread in high school - a very good athlete who had some starts for the Little Giants in baseball at 2B.  After his Frosh year he decides he wants to be a fighter pilot - transfers out.  Missed football a ton and actually came back for every home game that next season - decides he needs to be at Bash - re-enrolls in the Spring.  So, he's a  Sophomore eligibility-wise.  Wabco may tear up if he reads this story - HAHAHAHA.  Wabco digs Michigan kids.

nike: The way things are shaping-up in Delaware...The Hiram game will be "Big"
Even if it is close & the Bishops win....the Bishops look bad....Bishops win big...then the propaganda machine in Delaware will use it as the "Springboard to 2011" or as in Animal House; "All is well"...
Bishops lose...well, then...we'll have lots to talk about, won't we......

Give Oberlin a lot of credit.  They had two close losses, back-to-back, against unbeaten, 2009 playoff teams.  All with a roster of only 50 and only 7 on the depth chart on the OL.

But I don't think Wabash loses two in a row.
