That will quiet the Case boys down a bit.......

24-20 Chicago....

Looks like no playoffs for the UAA this year.  This opens up a spot for a possible one loss Witt team from the NCAC.

Can't say enough about the Wabash defense today.  Been a long time since I have seen that kind of swagger with the Hard Hats.... refs helped bring it about.

ER was pretty upset... love to see that emotion as well.

DRW hit was legal, wonder if it wasn't the QB, if it would have been called?  That Gheny punt had no chance ...after all of that.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Assuming that the UAA champ goes at least 8-2 (be it Chicago, Case, or WashU), they probably will get into the playoffs.  The Pool B field is VERY thin - Wesley is the only Pool B team that's head-and-shoulders above an 8-2 UAA champ.  Almost all other Pool B teams besides the three UAA schools already have 2+ losses.

Hard as it is to believe, a 9-1 CWRU would likely get into the playoffs even without winning the UAA.

And I'm not one of the "Case boys" - in case my handle doesn't tip it off, I'm a CMU grad.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

Hiram did not look improved at all.  Awful game to watch.  We need parity.
OWU will finish the season 2-8.
Talked two buddies into going to Witt game next week.  Do I need to get tickets ahead of time?  Will this be sold out?

Case losing today is a surprise.  But you called it a couple days ago over on the UAA board ExTartanPlayer as you said it was at Chicago's home field and that this was Chicago's best team since their 2005 title team.  Wow.

I've never had trouble getting tickets at the gate for these games.  I think you're safe with a day of purchase.

Thanks Wally.  Will be rooting for Wabash as assumed underdog.  Witt is tough.

Back from Hollett Little Giant Stadium today...it was 20-3 but it was a beating today by the Little Giants.  It was never close (was 10-3 for awhile) and Wabash looked more physical the entire game.  The penalty on DJ Singfield's pick 6 was the worst call I have ever seen...honestly...was awful.  For those of you didn't see the game, Bash had 2 TD's called back...one on a punt return (Dan Ryan Wood) and one for a penalty on a pick 6.  Both calls were very questionable.

The Wabash D look really good today and I look forward to a war this next Saturday.  I think the LG's have the personnel to make this game another classic!

Great job Wabash in a BIG win today!  Go Bash beat Witt!!!!   Wabash Always Fights!!!!!!!!!!

bashbrother  I know your comment about CWRU's loss opening up a spot for 9-1 Witt was mostly to slam Witt, but it doesn't open up anything for Witt.  The UAA would get in via Pool B, if at all.  Neither Witt nor Wabash can get in via Pool B, only Pool C.  But an 8-2 or 7-3 Wabash doesn't stand a chance in Pool C.  ;)

XTP  Pool B doesn't necessarily go to the UAA champ.  Case, if 9-1, could possibly go ahead of 8-2 Chicago.  We'll have to see if either CWRU or Chicago is in the next Regional Rankings.  As far as Pool B goes, I would take a two-loss Salisbury (both close losses to undefeated teams) over one-loss CWRU or two-loss Chicago.

How long have we waited for this? I love Witt Week. The game to decide the NCAC title. Love. It.

What happens if Witt beats 'Bash, then Wooster somehow beats Witt?  What are the tiebreakers?

yep.   I don't know enough about Pool B or Pool C to have commented.  It allowed me the luxury of assuming a big Wabash win next week.  ;)

Wabash beat Wooster, I believe head-to-head is the first tie break.  I could be
totally wrong.

are we talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3-eavMSBnk already?  ;)

Wabash would have beaten both Witt and Wooster, so Wabash goes.  We would have been in an interesting tiebreak situation had Allegheny won today and Wabash beat Witt next week.  We can all be thankful that it won't come to that.

Now, if Witt beats Wabash, Wooster has a chance to play their way into the tournament by beating Witt in week 11.

16-

Spot on about the D.  The defense has really picked it up since St. Louis.  How good was the Wabash D today?  Consider the following...

- Salopek was coming off a 31-35 game last week for a ton of yards and touchdowns.  Today, TJ never had time to find receivers and wound up 13-23, 1 INT, just 76  yards.  That's holding a good quarterback way down.

- Allegheny had 14 possessions.  11 ended in punts, one on the INT, one on the FG, and the clock ended their final possession.  Of those 14 possessions, 9 failed to move the ball more than 10 yards (one more went just 13 yards).

Was a great day for the D and if they bring it like this again next week, we're in for another low scoring classic.

BTW, your boy Scola is getting more and more field time and I think he was the one that blocked the punt today.  Looks like he could be the next big time Wabash LB.

Interesting dynamic at the Wooster-Hiram game today. Wooster wins 62-0, yet Hiram has so many players that they have double numbers. Wooster, on the other hand, is so thin that they had to leave both starting safeties and a starting defensive tackle in the entire game because they literally do not have backups at those positions. On offense, two of Wooster's five wide receivers they use regularly were a quarterback and running back when the season started, and the starting tight end today (with Daniels injured) was also a quarterback to start the season.
