Lil Giant - thanks for posting that on Coach House - what a great way to go out...  It was awesome.

Wally World - there is a very, very good chance that CJ Gum will be returning for a 5th season and I think Chamblee will be back.  Keeping those 2 on this group will be huge.  Scola and Gum in the middle next year - our O-line really matured a lot this season....hopefully we will also plug BIG Erik Hackett (6'3 300)back in next season as well returning next Fall.  I stopped in to tell ER good luck on Friday afternoon and who is sitting in his office...Mr. Hackett himself  ;D - hopefully a great sign.

I agree with all of your playoff chatter for sure.

Wabash Always Fights!

Go Witt - best of luck in the playoffs!!!!

Regarding the Wabash Pool C situation....

Montclair State was on the very first screen that popped up and I pretty much knew that the LGs were out right then.  I think Coe was on the next screen which only twisted the dagger.

Yeah -- ESPN showed them out of order and completely screwed up all the drama. Coe should have been the last team on the last frame.

And OWU, next year please give the NCAC pictures of your players, so when they are accorded "Player of the Week" status, we see their pictures, not the "Battlin Bishop" logo.
The best to Witt.

I'll get to work on that if the Wooster folks promise to upgrade the Baghdad-like streaming video feed for their games.  ;

Will get right on that Mr. Bishop.  Did not know it was a problem, cause always at the games.  With Barnes, Belton , Burke and Espisino(?) back, should be a lot of high scoring games next year.   Congrats to OWU for finishing the year with an offensive explosion.  Hiram  was a much better team this year, even if their record did not indicate it.  Hope both can make the leap to .500 next year.  They are a few quality players away.  Is Hollway safe for another year?

While I'm glad these two fellows may be back next season, isn't returning for a 5th year kind of expensive for these guys? I mean, there weren't too many guys I knew spending more than four years at Wabash. You got done in 4 years or you transferred to Purdue or IU.

Nike -

If I remember correctly, the NCAA controls the rights for broadcasting the tournament games.  I believe webcast (hopefully) or radio, may be the only options.

I remember not being able to watch the Wabash/Capital game in 2005 and having to settle for radio feed.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Wally World,

Where have you been brother?  A lot of guys have done this around the league, around D3, and at Wabash.  Wally Wabash and BashBro could probably add some guys but Mike Funk, Dustin Huff, Bubba Lang, Jeremy Morris, Matt Kraft - all come to mind returning for a 5th year.  I think what typically happens, is they lay out the Spring Semester and return for the Fall.

On the same topic with Witt - I remember when Huffman announced he would not return, I thought whewww (good news for Bash) but then Zoeller steps in and has a monster season.  Out of curiosity, I wonder if that weighed in on Huffman's decision not to return...not in fear he would lose his job but more "to let Ben have his shot."

BB16 - Coach House will be missed.  What a great way to go out.   ;D

You can add Jamie Bowers to the list of guys that returned for a fifth year...if I recall, he missed a season studying abroad and played in the fall after his senior year while he completed the 9th semester teaching program.  Bowers was a monster...loved watching that guy play.  He caught everything over the middle, couldn't be tackled by just one guy, and never ever missed his blocks.  One of the best all purpose TEs I've seen play in D-III.

Ultimately, the fifth year/9th semester is a choice for the students and their families.  I'm confident that whatever those students and families decide, it is what is best for them.

Please, call me Bishop.  :)

It could have been something to do with the resolution setting of my MacBook on my end, but coupled with the graphics in between quarters that was reminiscent of CBS's broadcast of the 1986 NBA finals, it was probably the feed.  Wooster played a hell of a game, and if their last pick was instead a punt that put Witt back to their own 20-yard line as opposed to midfield, it very well could have been a different result.  Loved watching Clavijo play, guy is all heart and had the defense fired up.

Will do, Bishop.
Four thousand people and a great game.  A great game.
Would say that my second favorite was at Selby, because of the great night atmosphere and the number of people.  Plus, it was a pretty good game.   Better than WashU, because so few people. No one was cheering for WashU.  Do not even remember Espinosa at that game, however.  He must not have thrown much at all.

It looked like a perfect day for a game.  The Scots gridders have nothing to hang their heads about.  One last question, Nike (and other Scots):

Obviously things at the Papp have changed since I last played there in '97, but what is the earth disturbance/construction behind the visitors' bench?  I thought the new athletic facility set to open in '12 is in a completely different location.  Is it visitors' stands?

visitor stands ? hahahaha

It is the new phys. ed canter, it extends from the old PEC, encompasses the hill and sort of wraps around behind the visitors sideline. it is supposed to be done january 1012.

I've heard the completion date has been moved up to November 2011 because things have been moving so smoothly, which means about one year from today we may finally have an indoor facility other than the local high school to use.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (11/15/10) – Guilford College Athletic Director Tom Palombo announced Monday that head football coach Kevin Kiesel will not return next year. Kiesel's teams compiled a 24-36 overall record in six seasons, including an 0-10 mark in 2010.
Palombo has launched a national search to find Kiesel's replacement. Guilford's assistant football coaches will share in the administration of the program until a new head coach is named.
and so it starts...End of the season and heads roll.....
nike: You asked if "H" is safe at OWU, but got no response. I think Prez Rock, AD, The "W" Association top people and some "others" will take a hard look at the situation. We had the poll of NCAC D3 just a few weeks ago...it was a landslide. Do you think COW, Witt, Gheny or Wabash would keep a "H" record in their program? And the last time I looked at the NCAC stats, Hiram was at the bottom of most of them, so, how much better were they? They were more exciting, but, in the end...still Puppies.
