Not to defend the Franklin College comments... but I will.   They had the Warhawks on the ropes early.  UWW didn't have anything and FC threw 2 ints...early or they would have gone into the half with the lead.  That's just calling it like virtually everyone that wasn't sipping too much kool-aid saw it.

Just like last year against Witt, UWW's coaching staff, depth and overall talent, came out of the locker room and took care of business in Warhawks fashion.   But, FC was ready to play today in the first half and it showed.

UWW is a great program and will again go far in this tourney, no need for disrespect.

UWW was also playing with a back-up QB as starter Blanchard was out with a minor finger injury.

Wow... another QB with an injuried finger.  Wheaton's starting QB played on Saturday with a fractured finger on his throwing hand.  Wheaton would NOT have won without him.

I believe I stated I thought witt would struggle on the road, like they have all year and WOW did they ever. too bad Mr. McKinley cant keep his emotions under control, not sure the witt defense will not be better off without his liability. I wonder how many personal fouls of his were in games where they lost by more than 2 scores. easy to go nuts and quit when your team is down and out.

I love that this OAC fella talks about winning with style, losing with class...

how many NCAC teams could have gotten JuCO transfer pierre garcon (colts WR) into their school ?
how about a different d1 transfer who spent a year in jail ? (who will remain nameless)

It would not happen, Our schools value the integrity of the institution. and would not put felons in the school system to try to win championships...

and the coaches do the best they can with what they got...NCAC teams wont be winning national football titles anytime soon.

Congrats Witt on the 2010 championship

Ryder16,

You can pick on the OAC for many things, but let's not rely on hyperbole, exaggerations and lies. The mid-term elections are over!

JUCO's may be rare in the NCAC but they do happen. One of my fraternity brothers was a JUCO transfer in swimming.

Garcon wasn't a JUCO anyway, he first went to Norwich, a D-3 school.

There have been students at Wabash who have had transgressions with the law, reformed, and then gained admittance and became successful. Pinning a name like 'felon' on a young man and holding something over him for the next 60 years is not the hallmark of a gentleman. If, indeed, there was a 'felon' on Mt. Union's team, then I assume Mt. Union's staff would handle such a student athlete appropriately. A mistake at age 18 should not be a life sentence.

Already mentioned but I'll back this up, Garcon was a transfer from a Division III school -- second of all, you might want to check your statement about class before you throw around baseless accusations.

All-NCAC team announced.

Seems a tad skewed towards Witt, but to the victor goes the spoils, I suppose.

The spoils is right! They went to ONU and the offensive player of the year throws seven picks-the first team middle linebacker gets 2 unsportsmanlike conducts back to back and gets tossed. Tiger-up guys. Your defense should be much improved next year without having to suck it up 15 yards further downfield to bail out McKinley and his petulance.

Congrats All-NCAC team.
And OWU, thanks for reading d3football.com,  specifically the NCAC posts and finally submitting pictures of your "Players of the Week".   Espinosa may be on there a few times next year.

Congrats to CJ Gum for taking the NCAC Defensive Player of the Year!...

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Good to see him get his due. Kid can flat out hit. I only kinda remember a particularly violent collision with him last year  ::)

Why pray tell not, Witt's done it before. Are we to assume that Witt can only recruit intelligent kids with no skills? I've only recently left education and can assure you that Wittenberg travels the state trying to recruit good athletes.

I make no apologies for my earlier remark about losing with class. I go back to a time when the Wittenbergs and Baldwin Wallaces humiliated poor little Mount Union and it was an important skill.  In Division III like High School, everybody except one team is going to lose at some point so it makes sense to learn to lose graciously.

I'm not sure I'd want to spend a lot of valuable coaching time teaching "winning with class".

well well well, I was wrong on Mr. Garcon ! my apologies to the posters for the faulty information. as far as JuCo transfer at wabash, im sure you can find one here and there, but not in the numbers and quality you see in some certain OAC schools. but alas, it seems to be beating a dead horse.

In other news, yes, the 1st team does seem to be skewed a little toward witt. but every year the non-champion teams seem to feel that way !

heres to an off-season of improving ! hopefully we can recruit some of this top tier talent as well as improving the horses in the stables!

Mr. Ypsi

Ryder16, what I would object to is your automatic assumption that a JUCO transfer is because he was too dumb to get into your precious school in the first place.  In these economic times it is often a smart decision to get all the basic 100-200 requirements out of the way at a community college, saving tens of thousands of dollars.  There are MANY highly intelligent, high GPA students who choose that route (presumably to the gratitude of their parents ;))!

Perhaps you should rethink your attitude towards community colleges? >:( :D

(And to attack a particular student/athlete by name on the basis of misinformation (that I dare say there were MANY of us who knew the correct info) is beyond the pale.  -k to you, sir.  Please THINK, and clean up your act.)

Act like you've been there before. When you 'win' in the real world, you don't gloat because the person who 'lost' may be on your 'team' in the future. And they will remember...

Or, more likely, they may soon be in a position to take revenge. ;)

In 1968, already up 42-14 in the final minute, Woody Hayes chose to score another TD on Michigan, then (successfully) went for a 2-point conversion.  Asked after the game why he went for two in such a situation, he said "'cuz I couldn't go for three"!

It worked (sorta) - Michigan fired Bump Elliott and hired Bo Schembechler.  In 1969 Michigan defeated "the best team I ever had' (Woody's words) 24-12.

NEVER rub it in - the opponent will have a LONG memory. ;)
