formerd3db,

It seems like former big-time coaches have divided opinions on whether they'd prefer to be a head man at D2-D3 or a position coach in a D-I program.  Mike DuBose (former Alabama head coach) was the head man at Millsaps from 2006-09 (and he did a great job), but he's returned to the Division I ranks as a defensive line coach at Memphis.

Really, I'm not sure which is a lower-stress job (D3 head man or D1 position coach), since I've never been there.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

I know the 2010 Bell Game was weeks ago, but I wanted to take this opportunity to give credit where credit is due....  I had been somewhat critical down the stretch of some things...

The Wabash Defensive game plan put together by ER and his staff for the Bell Game was perfection.   Watching the game for the eighth time last night, the blitz packages and defensive line activity was some of the best I have seen with any Little Giants Team....... Bravo!

The coaches had the team ready...no question that Depauw was not ready for what was put on that field...

Will Gum be back?...
and what about Wes...???...Just look what Wenger MLB for North Central has done with the same injury at the same time last year

As much as I'd love for Gum, Wes and others to complete their eligibility, I would rather them go ahead and graduate on time and start their next adventure in life.

Smeds,

No offense brother but you didn't play, thus you don't know what it's like to have a year taken away from you.  Those are 4 very precious years that you never get back EVER.  I think if a kid wants to use it (a 5th year), they absolutely should!!!  In fact, I think it is a very cool thing when guys do.  They have a completely different perspective/outlook.

I think Wes is coming back for sure and I think CJ is strongly considering it.  With those 2 plugged in to the returning parts...we should be rock solid and it'll be a lot of fun watching those 2 especially.

Bashbro - how about the hit CJ had on the Dannie WR on their sideline???  Yikes.  He blitzed on the play and made the hit on a swing pass on their sideline...nice!   ;D

P.S.  Congrats to Coach Petty and our hoopsters for a great start to the season and a big road win in Dannie-land!  WAF!

Two Indiana men as Gagliardi finalists - congrats to Kyle Ray and Eric Watt!  There's more than corn in Indiana!

BB - I know your take but I don't want it to become a habit. Wabash (and the other NCAC schools) is like a cohort - you come in and go out with the same crew and that's what makes it special.

I mentioned it before, but I think it's a choice for the student and that student's family.  Whatever they choose to do is going to be the right choice for them and that's what matters.

I certainly don't think that exhausting eligibility through a 9th semester is anywhere close to a "habit".  A couple of weeks ago we rattled off a grand total of about eight players that used a fifth year dating all the way back to the early 90s.  That's really a pretty small percentage of players.

That's true, but you know the saying (especially at Wabash).

If it happens three times, IT'S A TRADITION!!!!

Hillarious ... misses the point.  The points:
1) Dannies undefeated twice within less than a month
2) Dannies over rated twice within the last month
3) Dannies kicked around twice within the last month
4)  By ... (trumpets up) ... the Little Giants

By the by ... in both cases Wabash should have been and in fact was and is the higher ranked team.  That is :  "ranked" verses "rank"

Nice! +K.   Doesn't matter the circumstance..... beating the Tigers badly in any sport....is always something to celebrate.  ;)
