Congratulations to all the guys on the All-Region team.  However, Brad McKinley was SCREWED!  The kid is easily one of the best players in all of D3 and has been for the last 4 seasons.  Not sure why he never got more awards.

Is someone with more information than I have going to tell Short, why McKinley gets passed over for all-region. Perhaps getting thrown out of the playoff game is good for starters?

wally, I've tried to get you to believe this for a while, CWRU isn't "intentionally" beefing up on the bottom half of the NCAC.  That schedule was set up before Case was any good.  From 2001-2005, Case had been struggling to beat the Oberlins and Denisons of the world.

For the first two years, maybe, but I believe there was ample opportunity to get out of 1-2 of those games (before they were set in stone) and find some meatier competition for 2010-2011.

Wittenberg is taking a road trip to Alabama (Alabama!) in 2011 in lieu of their previously scheduled game vs. Hiram.  You can get out of undesireable games if you really want to.

Just like Wabash should drop undefeating Kenyon.

Wabash played #s 6, 7, and 9.  CWRU, only  6 and 8.

CWRU this year and next dropped Kenyon and Ohio Wesleyan for Allegheny and John Carroll (tied for 4th in OAC).  And quasi-UAA member Rochester beat a play-off team (Alfred) that won two post season games.

So Wally, just drop it, will ya?

See, the difference is that Wabash plays those teams because they're in the same league playing a mandatory league schedule.  CWRU is not required to play those teams...they choose to.  Whether they chose to do it six years ago or two years ago or yesterday, they chose to play those teams.  CWRU has the ability to schedule literally anybody in the country they want, and yet they elect to play traditionally poor teams from a bottom-heavy league.  Comparing Wabash's schedule and CWRU's schedule (which, btw was far, far stronger than CWRU's schedule per the NCAA SOS metric) is an apples and oranges situation.

You don't know what CWRU is required to do under the NCAC-UAA agreement.  You have admitted that before.

Just be glad Chamblee made that great play in 2008.

Which one?  Right....THAT one. The one where Wabash ended CWRU's season.  On their home field.  Again.  That was a good play.

Brad McKinley was one of the 28 (yes, 28!) linebackers nominated for D3football.com All-North Region.

Which is the apple and which the Chrysler?  The quoted sentence makes no comparison.

Yes it does. It compares two things that are not comparable. Much like your argument about Rochester beating Alfred and how the heck that's relevant to the NCAC / UAA deal.

Thanks, smed. I didn't think it was a difficult puzzle to piece together.

You could have, but to no effect.  I'm not seething about that game.  The Bears played a fantastic game and won.  Wabash loses a game every now and then...the world still spins.

Or at least politicians and ad agencies do.  My teenager says gravity is 'cause the world sucks. :P
