WAB64 and Wabco,

You guys are thinking about Mike Skinner - the WR out of Andrean H.S.  I saw him at the Big Ten hoops tourney back in March and he looks good and ready to go - fully recovered and has been in school.

Bums me out that Joey Germano picked Witt.  Coach Germano was a great one at Bash.

How many more days until Wooster's bio's on their returning guys?   ;D ::)

#16-thanks for refreshing my recollection. Will be glad to welcome Mr. Skinner to the stable. Someone commented last year, I think in reference to James Krause, expressing wonder that Wabash keeps coming up with wide receivers. It has been quite a run.
I wonder how many days (weeks, months) before Wabash posts a bio piece on returnees (or newcomers, for that matter). I've been following this business for about ten years now and have never seen one, until the roster sneaks in, under the radar, about half-way into camp. Of course, Wabash  has always played it close to the vest in the preseason, with minimal coverage of camp, the Red and White, and the Wheaton scrimmage, etc. I think there is some sort of rule, put down by somebody (NCAA or the conference) that this information is not to be publicized. I'll  have to be patient
Quite a contrast from living among the Packer backers, where every day brings another story about the practice. Sort of like Indianapolis in May, when the Star had a daily column of who crashed their car in practice and how long the tire marks were before he hit the wall.

While on the subject of LG wide-outs, here's an apparent addition - with size and speed!

Track times from last weekend's Meet of Champions and previous IHSAA State Championships (won the 300m hurdles at both, and 5th at state in 110m) could favorably match "top four" finishes in the recent, DIII championships @ OWU.  Point of clarification with comparison, as some conditions were less than ideal in Delaware, and extrapolation of a 300m (37.70 sec) time into 400m potential is conjecture at best.  No doubt, though, with both events - some serious wheels!  ;)

I have been reading these boards for a long time, finally decided to make the plunge and get my own account. Wanted to see if any of the DPU guys have been trolling the boards and if they might be able to brief us on what the other evil Tigers have returning next season. I know they graduated a lot of the "greatest team ever" from last season, but, with them playing a hybrid NCAC/SCAC season this year it would be good to get a little insight on the Kitties from Greencastle.

Good for you, Wally World. Welcome to the club, consisting of a whole.  bunch of us and 2 guys from OWU. Seems like everyone else has dried up and blown away. Its been a LONG time since we've heard from the DePauw people- I miss Wes Anderson and d3DPU fan; they are always up to speed on what is going on and know what they are talking about. Write well, too. Maybe the whole University is still in the tall grass, licking their wounds.
I think the rest of the NCAC has given up -they don't even come on to gripe about Wabash turning the site into a mutual admiration society, like they used to. We have a lot of fun, though. Particularly when its 47-0.

Wallyworld   Welcome.  Gave you a karma.  You will lose them soon enough for having an opinion contra to a Woo-er or Witt-er or Dannie or the like.

Needed an upper this afternoon so just finished watching the youtube of Chamblee smoking the Woo punt returner on the Woo abortive punt return effort.  While I don't want us to use Wes on D this year if we don't have to ... do hope we provide him just one punt coverage opportunityu against Woo ... so he can gain a little revenge for the acl hit on him last fall.

Thanks for the love guys, it's a shame we don't hear more from our NCAC brethren. If the Ohioans have enough time on their hands to sign a proclamation declaring how evil LeBron is, they should have time to post on here...Lord knows they can't be out enjoying the good weather! What do we think about Wabash's quarterback situation--do we continue the 2 QB rotation that worked well against DePauw but not against Witt or does ER pick one and let it ride thru the year?

Cave...you made my day...seeing the info on this recruit Nathan Mueller...

I wish my son Andrew had him over at Greenville College...but am so glad he has chosen Wabash...Such nice track numbers...

Just found out today that a certain Wabash frosh from last season has a younger brother that plays QB in the Chicago area and is a JR..Will be looking at his schedule to catch him in a game or two this season...

I am really anxious to see what kind of season Coach Thorne from North Central wiill put together this year...made the semi finals last year...Lost in the forth quarter to Whitewater...he is losing a bit but has quite a few playoff years under his belt now...

I just don't know.  There's a lot there to replace.  New QB.  The top 3 pass catchers are gone.  The leading rusher is gone.  The offensive coordinator is gone, which is probably the biggest of all.  There's also a lot of youth in what the LG's and Trine proved to be an easily beaten secondary.

Plus, maybe it's just me, but it's awful hard to get excited about a season where you play 3 home games and have almost zero chance of going to the playoffs.  They'd have to go 9-0, but they probably still don't get a Pool B because they play a bunch of non-region games.  That's without even mentioning that you have win on the road at Gheny and beat your rival, who just so happened to shove their foot in your ass for 60 minutes last year.  It's sad to think about just wasting a year, but that's almost how I look at 2011.  No experience, tons of road games, no conference, no playoffs.  Maybe we get it in 2012.  We'll see, I guess.

Thanks for getting back on the wagon, Wes. I have always enjoyed reading your comments on this board and have found them insightful. So long as you don't bring Breckenridgebear around too often  ;) it's good to hear from you again...

Do you think Schweir is going to be the QB or do they go younger and try to build for the future, knowing all that is seemingly stacked against them going in to 2011?

Amen again, Wallyworld 12, amen. Too bad about Wes-it sounds like his depression is nearly terminal.

Imagine that come late August Wes, D3DPU, and maybe even Joe W will regain those feisty attitudes and perspectives we all know and love.  ;)  Heck, even the bellicose Bear will regrettably emerge from his den in November to scrape off the bum bunions.  ::)

Perhaps suspicious or wary, but rather than reading despair maybe a bit of Holtzesque poor-mouthing when relating to roster strength?  Have to agree with Wes that three games at Blackstock, including the last two of the season is depressing but at least RHIT and OWU are relatively close.  Somehow, I believe DePauw will muddle through.   ;D
