Wabash announced today on their Facebook page that a NEW wabash.edu website will be launched tomorrow mid-morning.    Can't wait to see it.    Hope it comes with a 2011 Football Preview  ;)

          Amen--bro

And will anyone offer "a Halleujah?"

Given the mundane performances of the Springboks of late, the sporting news has been drier than the Kalahari bush over here! ;D

Actually, only 9 of the NCAC teams will play either Case or CMU...Ohio Wesleyan will play both in 2012 and Kenyon takes the "Earlham" ;)

"Earlham" in North Coast language = taking a pass on participating with the rest of the league  ::)

And for the Bishops, it's hoped that a scheduling snafu doesn't force them to take a "Kenyon."
"Kenyon" = 1 to nil forfeiture  :D

The new Wabash website is launched!   It rocks!  A great article on 2011 Little Giants Football is up there as well.

Bravo!

New roster is up too - http://sports.wabash.edu/roster.aspx?roster=4&path=football

Couple names missing on the roster, but that happens.....  Jr. LB from Mater Dei in California is not listed and maybe another one or two.

Nice seeing Weston Kitley at 6-5 293.....  he is going to be a beast again this year... and only a Junior with National props!.... nice.

Gum at 231.... very scary.... can you imagine being a freshman QB or RB making eye contact with him before the snap......

#16.... being a great LG's Backer, you have to love seeing Gum and Scola rocking the gaps.

Holmes RB.... 6-1 212...... with speed...... punishing!

#84,  one of the most exciting Little Giants, I have had the pleasure to watch on the field!  Chamblee, Horn and Young and co....... good luck defense.....D. Kelley up the seam!....nice..

Belton a year older and a year smarter!  Scary stuff!

Excited!!!   Wooster Sept. 10th..... Let's Go!

47-0

WAF!

A couple D-line guys to keep an eye on:

Jorge Diaz-Aguilar 6'6" 233
Zach Breukman 6'2 236
...both are sophomores.

Scola at 220 alongside CJ at 231 - at ILB

I dig the Hodges brothers wearing #1 and #2 - that could be a great combo at corner.

Soph QB Andy Walsh 6'4 221...

None of the Bishop fall sports previews are up...and the 2010 football preview is
finally down. Which means, the Bishop Brass will unveil the 2011 forecast next
week. I think QB Espo will be throwing 90% of the time....hope his arm doesn't
give out. GO BISHOPS

Personal:

Happy news, I've got a great new job at a software company that is working on a new fundraising software for Higher Ed.

Sad news, I'm moving to FL - the Boca Raton area.

Somewhat happy news, I'll be traveling a lot and may be in IN on occasion.

Of course, I'll be watching the LGs on my computer if nothing else...

bashbrother-  I did note the absence of #37--Kessler Armbruster, the linebacker from Mater Dei, along with a promising freshman from last year- Markell Brown, from Mt Carmel of the Chicago Catholic league, which is good credentials ( Dan Ryan Wood,  Jack Ruddy, et al.) I know he played special teams and blocked one of the punts.  And poor Sam Smith- he will be missed-he's a great DB.
Looks like Kyle Stevens, a running back with size is missing. I guess he didn't recover well from no gain on 3rd down before "The Sneak" in 2009. I hope Sam Smith will recover well. Any report on how he was injured? I can't recall whether he was to be a junior or senior-he's all messed up because of transfering. I have seen both. Another redshirt, anyone. (except they all have red shirts)

Perhaps I am misinformed, but I thought it was Wabash tradition for a senior to wear #1.

ADL70 - you amaze me at times with some of the stuff you catch (that's a compliment) - good oberservation, I didn't even realize that.  I'll try to find out - BashDad#84 - any insight there?  We've had some years wear that # seemed like a jinx.

Cave2Bens - Hodges will be playing corner, both of them.

Wab64 - Kessler did return to school but apparently lost some weight over the Summer and decided not to play (had to work a lot).  Great kid and glad he's still at Wabash - I think he's going to play LAX.  I think Brown was academics.  Kyle Stephens quit last season due to a lack of carries.

I am only guessing, but I think the guy's did not want to wear it out of respect for the last guy that did and also feeling a little jinxed. ???

Going to make a pitch on this board about supporting Kickoff 2011. We have some great NCAC coverage this year, including a Q&A with Wes Chamblee. Worth the cost, we think, and D3football.com needs your support this year as much as ever. Please give us a look-see again. It comes out on Tuesday:
