This video feed is a joke. They just put commercials in right in the middle of play. :P

All that being so, this second half is beginning to weigh heavy on whatever enthusiasm the first half mustered. They look terrible and down-trodden. An early lead next week would be great for Bash. Whatever advantage Woo gains from playing in week 1, Wabash will come in without the psychological baggage that a loss like Woo's will provide.

bashbrother

There is a chance that BW came out very off and they picked it up.  making it appear that Wooster was doing more than they were.

Last I saw, Wabash uses the same service: Ustream.

If I am not mistaken,  Wabash's home football games, at least for the last few years, are broadcast by hometownsportsindiana.com via livestream.com.

I didn't have any issues with the UStream video feed tonight... actually it was good.  The ad insertion timing was very suspect, but the feed quality was clear and strong.

Perhaps -- I was thinking of basketball games, which I know I watched on Ustream.

Ustream inserts the ads automatically. The broadcaster does not have any control over that.

D3dpu_fan,

Because the comment was "Coach Long looks like a FAT Gary Bracket" - as Boulais showed 2 side by side head shots of the 2.  It's obvious in the clip that Coach Long has dropped some serious lbs!!!  I'd guess 30-40 easy - give him credit.

P.S.  My feed was also good last night.  Although I'm concerned about opening on the road vs Woo - I'm trying to figure out the "love fest" from BashBro and BashDad...???  I didn't watch thinking OMG they are really good.  ??  Barnes and Flagg can fly for sure though.

I watched and thought "if those guys take care of the turnovers Wabash will be in for a tough game". I still think that. I agree with BashDad that jumping out to a lead will be a big deal if we can get that done. Wooster looked like they are more than capable of moving the ball how they want. They hang on to the ball and that's a different ball game last night.

Dude, 16, did you watch the first half? Gimme a break, man. Flagg and Barnes, save those disastrous turnovers, looked like Co-PoY's in the first half-hour.

I guarantee you they're going to watch tape and run the option, like, 500 times against BASH on saturday. It was scary good.

The second half was a mess and revealed the ugly temperament of a team collectively wondering if they were, after all, losers. The game looked mandatory. That's the part you can't fix with practice and what gives Wabash--entering the game with all goals intact and with the blind enthusiasm of a fresh season--an actual ADVANTAGE in starting a week later.

So, no, I'm not in love with the Scots--not yet, anyway--but yes, I was giddy as all hell watching that offense in the first half. It was FUN. And unexpected.

Here's hoping they find themselves the best 0-2 team in the country.

BashDad

Last year, Woo put up 211 yards on BW.

They put up 30 more yards than that last night. In the first half.

Just sayin'. I'm not indulging CoW just because I feel like it.

I agree, Woo's offense looked good last night (I only watched the first half, though).  Wooster could have easily been up at halftime if they took care of the ball.

Love fest is pretty strong..... I look at it more as respect where respect was due.... the 2nd half, was a complete disaster..... lack of confidence, no intensity and a few including (Barnes) almost looked like they tossed the towel in.  (In absolute fairness to Barnes,  it may have been because he was banged up and thus, I would retract)  The Woo Defense became very tired in the 2nd half which is another takeaway for me heading into next week.

By the way, why is it some Wabash fan's obligation to defend Wooster? Where are all those guys?

I might be inventing things, but I got the distinct impression last night that the CoW community, including the players, haven't fully bought what Richard Barnes is selling. The amount of animosity dripping from the UStream chat-box was startling. This included, but was not limited to, a self-professed "best friend" of Flagg who became a cartoon of give-flagg-the-ball buffoonery and a mother of someone (a player?) who lost her **** out of excitement when Barnes was hurt. Idiots on chat boards is no new thing, but the most damning evidence was when the camera found Barnes licking his wounds on the edge of the bench, nary a friend in sight. Is he a dick-head? What gives? From where I'm standing, he and Belton are two of the most athletic QB's we've seen in the past decade of NCAC QBs. If I was picking a team, I'd pick those guys ahead of Seven-Pick-Rick over there in Springfield, that's for sure.

They shouldn't have been.  Wooster had the ball more and ran 30 more offensive plays that B-W.  And they forced B-W to wear dark unis on a hot game night.  If anybody should have been tired, it should have been the Hornet defense.

Ha!  Also, that UStream chat box was about 19 times more entertaining than fumblefest going on to the left of it.
