You guys have a football team on your hands now.....   QB is quality......  Defensive line is really strong.....

Nice effort today..... could've easily been a closer game.

This is great to hear.  Down 21-0 I was curious as to how OWU would respond and they did not disappoint.  Congrats to the Little Giants.

Okay, from the Hollett sidelines...  Wabash came out on fire in the first quarter, then lost it.  We came out running, and running well.  Defensive intensity fell off and the long TD resulted.  We never really seemed to pick it back up, either.  Chase had a LOT of time fairly often, at least five seconds many times and still took a sack instead of throwing it away.  Decvision making was questionable as well.  He doesn't act a lot like a junior qb with a season under his belt as a (co-) starter.  Wes was awesome and there were some really hard hits on D.

The penalties were mind boggling.  Some were stupid, and some were...questionable.  Let's leave that there.

Bishops are more competitive, but Espinosa got belted around quite a bit.  The OWU D was okay, better than I have seen but still a work in progress (as are the Little Giants).

Was next to the elder and younger Koliseks for much of the game.  They were quite vexed by many of the same things I just enumerated.  Look forward to improvement and growth from the Little Giants!!!   WAF!!!

Wabash recap has Wes going for 184 All-Purpose yards, though the stats are incorrect-- they credit him as having -11 kickoff return yards, when the total has to be close to 100.

What was I drinking when I picked Hiram to keep them game fairly close.....?

They still make that 'drank' that Jamarcus Russell was so fond of??

Wabash is fine.  Bishops are coming along fine.  They never quit and workd at it.

We need to figure out QB ... happy feet and indecision.Suggest going to #2 or#2+ (who will make decisions) and make Belton a RB in a 2 RB offense.  No question he is a very fine ball carrier ... just too indecisive as a QB as to what to do in a developing play.  He was not helped by the Center providing far too many high snaps.  All in all ... today will provide a good learning platform to get better ... the material is there.

The Wabash stands enjoyed the Gheny score.  All in all, a good day.

Way too early to yank Belton from QB, especially during a 2-0 start. That wouldn't send a positive message. I think the film study and the bruises from the seven sacks may convey its own message!

There's always something to improve on but wanting drastic changes to a team that has won it's first two games, both conference games, by a combined score of 47-14 kind of befuddles me.

These men did exactly what I knew they would do. They came out swinging! The first half was a vast improvement over last week. While they did begin to sputter a bit in the second half, the game was never really in doubt. More hard work in practice and the "train" will pick up more momentum... 8-)

You've GOT to be joking. The sacks are frustrating, but give me a break....

Defense has never been the problem in Delaware.  They've got an all-league DL over there, maybe two this year.  That front caused a lot of problems when Wabash went to pass today.  Credit to the Bishop defense, especially in that second half when they stymied the run as well.

I thought it was a mixed bag today.  The first half was excellent until the very end.  The second half seemed out of whack a little bit, but as noted above, credit the Bishop defense.  Yank the starter?  No way.  If 252 and 4 TDs isn't good enough, we are way too spoiled.  Wes dropped a punt today...maybe we should rethink that position?  Nah, I didn't think so.

The defense was nasty again today.  OWU got some drives going in the fourth quarter...it's amazing what opens up in the middle when CJ is on the bench getting ice.  A lot of guys got dinged and sat out a lot of the fourth quarter...CJ, HH.  Looked like they'll be fine.  The Bottos injury looked significant.  Horn missed the second half after he got blasted in the side going over the middle (maybe part of the reason for the second half offense not being quite as crisp).  It was a man's game out there today for sure.

Bottom line today is that Wabash won by three TDs and only gave up one score.  That's a good day.  Also...248 AP yards for Chamblee today.  He looked smooth all day, both on special teams and running after the catch.  He'll house one or two before the year is over.

LGs are 2-0 and 2-0.  Nitpick all you want, those are the numbers that matter.  On to Chicago next weekend.  WAF!

Couple of league side notes...

- Surprising result from Meadville today.  We've heard a lot from the folks down south about how weak this league is.  It's not that easy driving back from PA with a win, is it?

- Super bummer to hear about Barnes.  I don't know the extent of that injury, but it didn't sound good.  He's a pain to defend, but I hope he can bounce back and be back out there for Wooster next season if not sooner.

- Get that tape from WashU to a Wabash coach's office.  Right now.  Heckuva job by the Bears to hold that offense down like they did today.

I wanted to weigh in on the Wabash/OWU game yesterday...  First, the game was NEVER in doubt from the very first drive that Wabash worked - "hot knife going through butter."  Wabash blew a coverage at the end of the half which was frustrating but happens on occasion.  Bash seemed to loosen up as the game went on and the 4th Q seemed like more prevent waiting on the clock to run out.  Wabash looked great for most of the first half and then some of the air came out.

I have to admit I am frustrated too with Chase.  6 or 7 sacks for over 60 yards is crazy - of those, there may have been one that he didn't have a chance to throw the ball away.  For whatever the reason, his indecisiveness is GLARING and if the primary receiver is not open, he really really struggles.  It's like he doesn't check to his 2nd or 3rd and never 4th option - there is no progression whatsoever on his checks.  I'm hopeful it's just been 2 lack luster games so far and that he will find his rhythm going forward.  He did make some very nice throws (TD to Horn was a great ball in the corner, the throw to Holm down the hash was on the money, etc.) and when he does tuck it and run hard, he gets chunks in a hurry.  I would like to see more quick (catch & throw) plays to our playmakers (Chamblee, Hildebrand, Krause, etc) whether it's bubble screens, slants, and outs but if he can just get the ball to them, they will make big plays in the open field.  He definitely shows flashes of what he can do.  It's scary when our O goes to an empty backfield and we are 5 wide!!!

I'm confident we'll be ok and continue improvement week-to-week.
