I have no affiliation with witt, i'm just a college football fan. but nice try bash brother!

Hmmmmm....Random ... that is interesting.....the email listed on your account on here tells a different story....     keenan0425@xxxxxxxx.net and then you put that email into Facebook and bam..... OR you and Keenan Freeman simply share the same email, which is somewhat strange.

Nice try.

UPDATE:  Well he deleted his account, he didn't have to do that....  He had a great career at Witt in that Defense.   Would have been nice to have him on the board.  I remember my first post in 2003 ...I predicted Wabash would win a National Championship by 2005.....  boy, I sure had a bunch to learn  ;)

I love when this happens.  Earlier this offseason, the same thing happened with a recent Wooster player - the guy said things like "I've heard that the coaching staffv likes Player X" and "Supposedly, Player Y isn't a good leader"...without realizing that his email address made it very plain who he was.

It's not that hard, ex-players of recent vintage.  Post your thoughts/insight with class and respect, and there's no need to hide your identity.

I love when this happens.

My personal favorite is when it is a current player. Last one I remember it was a freshman hoops player from either Oberlin (or possibly Hiram, my memory fails me) that got on the hoops board talking himself up in the third person.

Seriously though, I would love to have more ex-players on here offering insight. No need to hide the identity.

Perusing the Team of the Week, I spotted a St. Scholasitca Saint which got me curious about how they are doing.  Wabash Hall of Fame coach Greg Carlson started that program from day one and has his Saints out to a 3-0 start in the program's fourth year.  Very cool to see Coach Carlson having success up there in Minnesota.

St. Scholastica and Coach Carlson also have the 6th longest winning streak in D3 currently with 7 wins in a row dating back to last year.

This. I always wish the best for Coach Carlson. I hope he continues to have success at CSS.

Then we need to be a little more easy on the new guys. Now, kids need to grow some... er, own up when they've been caught and not run off... but still. No need to go on a full out CSI operation and cross-reference the kid's email to Facebook just to call him out on the board. Heck, the kid was smarter than I was when I joined this thing - I used my school email, for crying out loud! (and I believe I still do...)

By my count, thats 2 people that have left the board recently, one Witt and one Woo poster. Attack the opinions, not the people. We could use some more diversity on here! I think we all agree that would be better for the board.

That being said, its good to see Terhune get back into his groove for Woo, he's been getting keyed on all season and needed a breakout game. Here's hoping the D can step it up this week against Denison, the Big Red always come in fired up against us. That Old Red Lantern hasn't been out of Wooster in a while, but the way the Scots have looked on offense, this year might be their year. Hopefully Frongillo can build on his momentum and get the offense going. That offensive performance against OWU was ugly. What has Denison looked like this year?

There is still nothing that says their initial post needs to include some form of attack or derogatory remark, that should go unanswered in the forum.    Believe me,this board needs and wants more intelligent participation (save breckenridge bear,  or I can't say it, but it starts with Sco and ends in Y)........

And what is with the need to stay anonymous..... childish silliness.  IMO, If you are not comfortable posting without someone knowing who you are.... you shouldn't be posting. Unless they are a current player... then they should be focusing on winning their next game instead of posting on some message board.

Not buying it.

2 new posters lost on the board -  (1) a current player trying to get more respect for himself by posting 3rd party comments about..... himself (2)  a former player that wants to attack and say anything without anyone knowing who he is.....

In my book, that is not losing much.

Back to Coach Carlson ... Wabash Hall of Famer.  Wouldn't it be a fun event to play his team.  I know, long trip (unles we can convince him to come here) but as a first game for each, a great season starter.

On another subject, sorry Wabash is playing Kenyon ... but if we have to ... great to do it for homecoming ... when everyone will get to play before a large home crowd.  Also ... a good week to just get healthy and build the momentum of the 2s and 3s.

In 2013, we'll 'have to' every year. And that's OK. Conferences should be round-robin!

Agreed.

FightinScot, I understand what you're saying, but the fact is that the "new guys" didn't exactly come in offering quality insight, only self-promotion and personal attacks.

I think that bashbrother said it very well:

"If you are not comfortable posting without someone knowing who you are...you shouldn't be posting." - applies to former players.  If a former player posts a remark that he KNOWS is legitimate, he'll stand behind it even if his identity is revealed.  If he won't defend his opinion personally, then I have doubts about the validity of the original comment.

"...they are a current player... then they should be focusing on winning their next game instead of posting."

Also agree that losing "(1) a current player trying to get more respect for himself by posting 3rd party comments about.....himself (2)  a former player that wants to attack and say anything without anyone knowing who he is..." is not a great loss.  If they have legitimate insight, they are more than welcome to return, but I kind of doubt that we were going to get that out of the posters in question.

also a good week for us geographically challenged..... We will get to tune into a great web-stream!  Hometown does a tremendous job!  Again,  thanks to everyone at Wabash for setting that deal up.

Well, there's a bit of difference between geographically challenged and screwed, but at least WNDY can be tuned in without rabbit ears and aluminum foil atop a giraffe's head even if exposed/outted by Brent and Tyler last weekend.  ;)

Congrats on the two-banger, BB!  WAF!

Shall we look forward to the week ahead? Let's:

Case (2-1) @ Allegheny (2-2): I'm at a loss to say where 'Gheny actually are (besides in Meadville). There's no trend for home vs. road. They've played well and poorly both places. Case may beat 'em by 35 or get upset by the Gators. Your guess is as good as mine.

Denison (2-2, 1-0) @ Wooster (2-2, 1-1): Denison laid an egg on offense at home against Case. Wooster has held their last two opponents to zero touchdowns, total. Somehow I think this will be more in line of a 14-10 game instead of the slugfest Denison would like to have.

Carnegie - Mellon (2-2) @ Hiram (1-3): Had the Cardiac Catholic Cardinals not had another intercession by Pope Benedict XVI (or whomever the Holy Father commanded to ensure the Tartans last-second field-goal went wide), C-M would be looking at a 3-1 start and a lot more confidence. On paper, the Terriers don't look like they can stop C-M, but C-M may not be able to stop Brandon Hanna. This will be the slugfest Denison wants.

Oberlin (2-1, 1-0) @ Wittenberg (4-0, 2-0): For me, the question is not whether the Tigers will win, but how respectable the Yeomen can keep it. Oberlin may be the third best team in the NCAC but to prove it they need to keep it reasonable. Although Witt at home has a tendency to make good times look silly.

Chicago (2-2) @ Ohio Wesleyan (1-3): I think the Bishops will need to study the coaches' tape from the Wabash / Chicago game. OWU's defense is solid and the scheme the Little Giants used should be Textbook 101 on how to contain Brizzolara. Actually, it may be just a Weekly Reader. If you sack the QB, Brizzolara can't get the ball!

Kenyon (0-3) @ Wabash (3-0): I've beaten the "non-conference" thing to death here. It's time to play the game. It's time to see the floats and banners, time to hear the chants. It's time to see if Coach Raeburn can play everyone on his roster. Kenyon has some decent pieces of the puzzle, but those pieces won't be enough to keep it close. After the Homecoming shenanigans, there may not be much reason to watch for casual LG fans (if there is such a thing). Of course, last week Augsburg beat St. John's at the Johnnie's Homecoming, and we're always reminded of the Illinois Benedictine debacle in the 90's...

Centre (3-0) @ DePauw (1-2): This is a litmus test for the Tigers. After a loss to Rhodes that can be put as either surprising or embarrassing, another game against their erstwhile conference foes could make or break a .500 season for the DPU. Centre is one of the two upstart (and fleeing) SCAC programs (Birmingham Southern is the other) trying to put a kibosh on Trinity's resurgence.  A win against DePauw will give them even more confidence. For the Tigers, they'll need some motivation to win.
